• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SWM is back

Thanks OD glad to see its made official now. To all Pete is a really super nice guy and always a pleasure to deal with and he rides his TE350 single cammer fairly well too!! SWM is a viable option in the DS game bridging the gap between the ultra premium price/component brands (KTM,Husky,BMW) and the lower cost/component brands (Japanese DS models).

Zip-Ty and SWM M/C USA are 15 minutes apart and they have already spoken about the bikes.

nice news about the bike parts. the BYOB biz model is really good BYOSWM can be a good thing.
The Oak Hills connection- 1 side of the 15 to the other!!

Would be awesome to see a new race team based upon the new SWM bikes especially when the 340 makes an entrance.

I would bet they simply contracted WP to build their frames. because it sure looks like a KTM/Husky chassis on the little 4 stroker. WP is chasssis builder among their other divisions.

As far as I know (may be I'm not right) Italian’s enduro chassis is one of the best in the world for enduro-racing. So for me would make no sense that SWM purchase (or copy) chassis to KTM having their own excellent chassis for enduro... that they could even improve a bit if necessary. Weird…

just a visual look at the small 4 strokes shown- the chassis looks like linkage KTM/husky or similar Beta style.
the big ones are 100% Red husky looking.

NEWS FLASH...Pete's trip to the SWM factory has been delayed.......On this past Saturday about 5hrs into the 6hr Iron Man Race at Glen Helen MX Park, Pete encountered two downed back-markers after cresting the blind top to down hill on Mt. Glen Helen. He hit one of the downed bikes and performed the proverbial "flying W" which resulted in a ride to the ER. He has broken his scapula, collar bone, several ribs, and has a punctured lung......the rest are just the typical "oooh I bit the dirt" ramifications that we all have encountered. At this time he labors to have a conversation due to temporary reduced lung function. He will be held in the hospital until they determine that he no longer has fluid leaking into his lung........maybe tomorrow. Anyways, the trip will be rescheduled ASAP. Nothing else has changed.

Is it just me or those 2T Sachs-engined red SWM's are just utterly gorgeous. Almost as good looking as a Puch-Frigerio !

Yeah my math said 9500 - 9999. They should definitely be under 10k here (4500-5000 cheaper than a FE501)

I had a 09' txc510. Beast! Not a snappy engine but loads of torque and got the power to the ground.
