• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Terra /Strada World sales??

Note that report is for 2012. Since the TR was introduced in, what, Oct? Then that's sales for a single quarter. Not sure how many were for 2013, you'd have to get that number from the new owner.

Hard to quantify the numbers. Of those numbers, much would have carried over into 2013, as they did not all sell to a customer that year, that was to the dealers, if I read it correct.

Either way, not many. Probably less than 5000 total.

Not many, anyway.. Thanks for the link.. i will keep it. We should ask, BMW how many SERTAOS.. no dates about it , in press sales news.. curious!.
1.321 Terras and I guess husky has beaten BMW GS and sertao.

The 650s were not available for very long in 2012, yet the sales were approaching the 449/511 sales numbers for the year. My guess is without the buyout, and hurricane Sandy interrupting incoming shipments into the USA, sales for a full year would have been huge (compared to the other Husqvarna bikes):

Husqvarna Motorcycles 15.7 % above previous year.
Husqvarna Motorcycles supplied a total of 10,751 vehicles (prev. yr.: 9,286 units / + 15.7 %) to the Husqvarna dealer network from January up to and including December. Supplies in the month of December itself totalled 1,267 vehicles (previous year: 1,330 units / - 4.7 %).
The most popular models in the single-cylinder sports segment (enduro, supermoto, motocross) were the 250/310 cc (2,758 units) and the 449/511 cc (1,627 units).
In the segment of motorcycles designed for on-road use, 1,936 of the models Nuda 900 and Nuda 900R were supplied as of December, as well as 1,321 of the models TR 650 Terra and TR 650 Strada.

Talking of the buyout and tr sales.... has anyone seen any speck of info about 2014 replacement ( if that is what it is). The BMW agreement with the chinese builders of the motor means that it almost certainly won't have this motor if continued. A Indian made ( Bajaj)690 KTM motor perchance and and maybe a 17" front wheel...or will the TR's just fade into obscurity except for those of us lucky enough to have owned one. Any credible rumours or reliable statements been made by those in the know recently?

I think a more relevant question is: "What side will the shifter be on, and will a model be made for the USA?"

Just for comparison. In 2011, worldwide, Husqvarna sold 9,286 motorcycles. Total. If they sold 1,321 TR650s in 1 quarter, or if they only shipped that many to dealers in one quarter, then that represents a huge number of bikes of a single model for Husqvarna.

As you can see in this prototype presented in MIlan salon, diferent frame and very small skidplate, also diferent brakes..

Yea, that's the old Strada prototype from a few years back.
It had a lot of BMW G650X parts on it which got swapped for the less costly (and available) G650GS parts in our production versions.

It is the strada, which they present new model to come, two years ago.. of course. Just i posted to see diference..with stock model strada. Anymore diferneces, the Seat.
