• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

...thanks Pierre,NOT!

Truth is I know lots lots of Japanese bike riders with out of date bikes they always seem to dig up parts from all over the place---some from dealer NOS, salvage, ebay, amazon crossover stuff. You guys really need to face it for now those red huskys are a dead bloodline, same as a 1985 WR250 or a 91 CR250 Honda etc. Luckily there is some future with new cross over parts in the SWM line.

I also know that CH Racing has a warehouse full of red husky stuff, that comes direct from the CH Racing boss himself, I just have no idea if Azza has the time or wants the effort of cataloging and selling stuff. Especially now that his Sherco Enduro squad is challenging for a world enduro title with Matt Phillips!!
Think about it yes he has a former Husky factory race team"garage " full of stuff.....but time vs profit??? selling one cylinder to one guy, time to verify part, time to package and ship vs profit......in a time when wen youre up to elbows in managing a top tier world class racing team......

For the OZ crew (Shawbagga) Stefan Merriman OA'd the 2000 ISDE on a TE400 single cammer from the then 350/400cc 4T class, so fact is the "old" Italian built reengineered/refined Swede blooded single cammer, single backbone chassis bikes had serious game into the 2000s. That guy was so dominant during his high time, to me one of the best ever due to his ability to ride so many different types, classes and brands to world championships and staying up at or near the top consistently at the world level. fairly good trials rider too.......(former top tier trials guy) seems that trials thing translates well into offroad/enduro racing...ya think???

cosmo
have you asked or looked into having one of the cylinder companies redo the thing, there are quite few choices here to send off to Millenium Tech, LA Sleeve LASCO, Eric Gorr etc etc Pro Circuit etc

Yea, I'm in the process of getting it measured. Millennium Tech are the ones who ruined it. I believe it was their porting and boring department, not the plating side, that screwed it up. Last I heard is Eric Gorr is out of business and vacationing/touring in Europe or some such thing. There are some places closer to home that I'm going to check with once I know what I'm dealing with on the current cylinder. I've heard good things about Engine Dynamic and there Power Flow just over the border in Nevada.

NOS = new old stock

The term refers to merchandise being offered for sale which was manufactured long ago but that has never been used. Such merchandise may not be produced anymore, and the new old stock may represent the only current market source of a particular item.

Oh I must be mistaken..... You guys forget how AWESOME Husky was way back..... way better than Italian Husky had NO MX titles and what 4-5 Enduro titles?

...he still isn't giving ANY CREDIT to the Italian models...you would think he'd at least acknowledge Jacky Martens Championship..the first ever 4T champ(in a long time) ..even before Yamaha claimed they were first to win on one ...sorry Henry

its very strange..and he doesnt really give credit to the 80s models much either. its kind of like they honor the husky that existed before ktm came about...

It was just a list from online.... There's tons of 80s desert and enduro championships not sure about GP and world enduro stuff

I was more responding to poster that said most husky championships came in the BMW era.... Which is way wrong

HERE YOU GO....hmmm, seems to be a few Italian built bikes in there..I'm sure I may have missed one or two..had to throw some in there that folks might not heard of..

I have a 04 husky c125 that needed a kick starter. Couldn't find one anywhere. Calls that were answered were a mix of "on back order" and "discontinued". Finally found a site that said 2 in stock so ordered right away. 5 minutes later thought I was getting a confirmation of purchase but was sent a notice of product on back order. I almost lost it. It was late so next day waited till 9 to call and let em know how I felt but a minute before I dialed I got a tracking number and it was here in 2 days. Nice surprise. But now I'm going on over 6 weeks for a beta part, that said ships in 3-5 days, and no return calls or emails. Go figure

Unfortunate problem of riding a bike from a small manufacturer.... Sometimes parts problem are going to suck....
