• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The iBeat Thread

Anyone near the San Fran Northern California Bay Area that wants to make some money and has a laptop that can iBeat my 630?

Can someone send me a link to what virtual PC I need to run ?
I upgraded my computer to Windows 10 64 bit .
( I tried to load a couple but couldn't get it to work )

I would try a Win7 32bit OS. They were awfully stable and pretty much everything worked with it. Sorry, can't tell you for sure. I think the one I used was on a netbook with XP Netbook OS and it was fine. Perhaps if you have a XP copy you could try that first. I know it's easy to virtualize - I have a toshiba phone server that we have to run the XP in virtual mode to interface with the phone unit.

Paul, you coming to the rally? Get the unit from Darkside and we can set it up there. It's super easy. I already have the program loaded on the netbook. I think the battery is shot, but we can plug it into a RV or something. Spa and all his motorhome buddies will be there so it's no problem. We'll just get an extension cord and plug it in.

Mine is running like a clock with dynobob's settings. I've been keeping up with the KTM lite-bikes. LOL

Hey Paul,
I have the setup boxed up and ready to go. We could either connect it up and do it together or you can take it and tinker with it at your leisure. I could probably meet you at carnegie this Saturday if you're available.

Actually, if you're going to some kind of meet. Why don't you take it and you can see if anyone else needs tuning.

Sounds good. I'll text or call you, probably later this week. Thank you.

Hey Guys, what Rally is referred to in this post? I need to be in San Jose in a week or two would like more info to see if I should arrange my schedule to attend.

Hey Guys, I no longer have a Husky, but I still have the ibeat setup I used on my 2008 and 2010 250's. It's complete with the USB adapter, printed manual and a laptop. the laptop is an old heavy POS pentium II that takes about 5 minutes just to boot up but it's 32 bit and perfect for doing ibeat adjustments. I'd like to make it available to the CafeHusky community. just pay for shipping. maybe when you're done with it you can pass it on.

Do you know what Rally is coming up in Northern CA I believe? And do you still have the old laptop?

Sorry no. I don't know of any gathering, only heard it mentioned a few posts up.
Yes, I have the old laptop. Complete setup for ibeat. Might need ac power though. I'm not sure if the laptop battery still holds a charge.

Paul - make sure to remind me to bring my netbook thing for the tune program. Sure as hell I'll forget.

It's a big event - 250 riders, lots of 'noobs' LOL. My first year was 2011 right before I bought my TE. I rode my road bike up there and camped out. It had snowed on the passes that year - people had a hard time getting there. Neat place to visit and explore - huge area. You can't see it all in the 3 days.

Chris, do I need the iBeat dongle/cord & laptop from Darkside or just the dongle/cord?

Just the cable. They are easily mailed from user to user. I borrowed one from a very kind member. The program you download. It's all very simple. But yeah, the cable is what makes it work - special obd thing.

Cable......check!

And you have the program on the laptop correct? If so.......here's your one month to DV reminder to bring the laptop!
