• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The TE630 may be the best adventure touring bike made!

Here you go...

I meant how it's at an angle. Ian could've drilled the holes a little further left for clearance. The wires aren't long enough to go up so he probably compromised:

But yeah, the hole could be bigger as well. This is it now with a 1/4" thick abs dash. Much better access with the computer out of the way:

What did you do to the wiring harness to move your display up that high?
I moved my display to the left, but the ignition key is still a pain to get to.

Sorry for the late reply. I cut the harness and extended them with leftover wires laying around. You might want to label or mark the blue ones before cutting, which I forgot to do, but they all join to the same circuit anyway. No problems with my display at least.

Thanks 1-11!

I figured there had to be some splicing involved.
I ride in the winter with the Lynx and hate having to fiddle with gloves to get at the key.
Might try mounting a 610 ignition assembly in the Lynx and disconnect the OEM, but keep
it for the steering lock.

I also just did a 3000ish mi trip with mine. Very similar set up except as you can see I don't have the Lynx and mine is in the shop (no idea what is wrong ).
I did have some issues
It boiled twice and I had to find new rear rubber to get home. And 400km from home It wouldn't start after a stop. No idea if the boiling is linked to the current issue of it not starting but I should find out this week. I ran the chain dry until I got on the tar on the way home and cleaned the air filter when I was out of the desert.

Aside from the issues I am really happy with the bike and will be taking it on other big rides after I sort out the current issues. I think the Lynx would be a bloody great addition not just for the highway but also in the desert. We were sitting on 130KPH (80mph) with max speed on the GPS being 155kph (95mph) and the wind blast got really old.

Hello BMAH,Say is that the white Safari tank that you have,or is it the translucent one? I like the fact a person can see the fuel level but the tank is not so clear that it looks pale in color.
Cheers, Herb

Herb, I have the stock tank on my TE630. I just strapped extra fuel cans onto the bike for my big trip. I have had no serious issues with my bike. I've never even heard the radiator fan come on.
