    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

TR650 Crash bars

Received my SW Motech crash bars today as well and spent some time trimming the Ricochet skid pan to clear the left side bar. It was nice to know what to expect based on the pictures from prior post.
 
Just heard that there are no more SW-Motech crash bars in the US until August. I guess for all of us who haven't switched, our fate is sealed.

No problem at all. :banana:(Finally, I get to use the dancing banana) The bars come with a spacer that is used if there is nothing attached to the top front bolt. Leave out the spacer, which is the same width as the Motosportz bracket, and it is a perfect fit. My only issue was trimming my home made splash guard to clear the crossbar.

Nice job on the wings there! Would you be willing to take a full side shot of the bike? Been asking folks for a while but no response yet. Pretty much sold on SW Bars. But would love to see how it all looks in the big picture. Sure looks clean from the close ups!
 
Thumpa, nice looking bike; looks like you are about to go somewhere!

I just got confirmation that AltRilder will be shipping their black bars the second week of July. I won't have them for the COBDR, but they should be on for the northern part of the CDR which comes right after. Now, no crashing allowed on the COBDR!
 
Bobzilla, The tank bag is the Enduro. The Wolfman website picture shows it with a 3 point attachment, but the new bags have a 4 point harness. The tail bag is an old Timberwolf tank bag. It was too big for the front, I thought. Works nicely in the rear. I don't believe they are still available with the red side pouches.

KW Sad to say it's not my bike mate, just requested a side shot to get a good look at the bars. I'll look forward to seeing yours with the AltRiders and compare notes. Hope you'll get a chance for some pics and a post ride report.
 
I've got a two day trip next week and will have to spend a lot of time offroad without any protection. I guess there is a slight chance of getting the Altrider bars before I go.
 
Well ladies and gents, the Altrider silver crash bars, are shipping today! I originally ordered black but would rather have silver or even paint them red, rather than wait any longer so, I switched to silver. Dang if July 4th won't likely stop me from getting them in time for my upcoming camping trip.
 
Ha, I did the same thing and switched to silver bars. They should be waiting for me in Colorado when I get there and now I'll have some protection on the COBDR. I'd prefer the black, but the silver will be just fine too. If that color doesn't grow on me, I can find a can of paint somewhere.

The silver crash bars for the TR650 did ship out today for anybody who ordered them! The black bars are still on schedule to come on around July 9th. Let us know if you have any questions about your orders!
 
Just got off the phone with Twisted Throttle. SW Motech crash bars and skid plate on the way. Actually have to wait a month for the crash bars though. Back ordered. Shipping Aug 1. After goofing around on the trails today I decided these items are a definite necessity. I'm going to come off this bike sooner or later and figured it needs to be protected.
