• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TR650 Strada & TR650 Terra

I like it, not gonna buy one, but I like it. Also looks like they fired the kickstand man and now have it right. Mine fell off for the third time the other day. Gonna try sch80 pipe next.:D

It's a BMW kickstand. Which means it has a kick stand shutoff switch. Probably no auto retractor, though.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of taller wind screen options they'll have for this head mask, might look good on my 610...

And what is this key hole for?

Marelli EFI  ... Get ready for Mikuni-esque fun! Visit the Ducati forums for the scoop on Marelli. WTF BMW???!!!

Muddy, the key hole is probably to release the seat, my G650X is similar..and the G650Xchallenge was only made in 2007. I got one & it's a pretty nice bike. They made the Xmoto(SM version w/17's f&r) for a couple yrs & the Xcountry(scrambler type w/19"F & 17"R) until 2011 I think.

Wow ...

You sure this is not COMP for the TE511? Looks like a jacket up, skinny TE449 ... Ground clearance looks plenty good ... Break off the mirrors and that mud guard coming off and below the rear fender and its just a bada$$ ...

These bikes are gonna be quick ...Maybe nimble to some degree with that tank down so low ... The price here will be crucial to draw those suzk and kawii guys over ... But once over on a Husky ... It will be goodbye to the big clunkers ... Hello sexy, fast Momma ...

Looks better out of the studio IMHO:

I think it's safe to say my bada** 630 is not going on Craigslist

Its all good, I'll not be selling my TE511 ether (but will be buying one of these). Like MNB says this is not really a 570/610/630 replacement as it is designed for a different mission. Think light weight adventure bike and less dirt bike. A growing segment Husky / BMW is smart to capitalize on. People like Oregonsage and my self see it as a good replacement for our street bikes, slows you down (My FZ1 will go about 80 in first) and allows you to explore gravel roads and EZ trails. Ride to cool remote lakes, explore a mountain range, see where that quad trail goes... etc.

Ive owned the BMW version, and it does fine at what its designed for, however the ergos on the BMW are not to my liking and I much prefer my Husqvarna dealer, Bill's, to any of the local BMW dealers.

I will keep the 650 on my short list, pending a test ride to see if it meets expectations...meanwhile the TXC511/449 is the most awesomest dirt bike on the planet :D

I like it. Very nice bike. Will keep my 630 for the time being though.
Besides, I gotta pay the loan down some more.
And I just picked up a new Triumph Tiger 800XC. Very fun road machine that will do 2-track as well, haul lots of gear, and easy 2-up.

A friend was seeing my TE 630 for the first time and really liked it. He mentioned he wanted to get a new DR 650 later in the year. I told him about the new TR 650 Terra and the reliability of the Husky's. He liked the sound of it and will be wating to see a Terra and find out the price.

The bike looks great!! I liked the Sertao in person but the Husky version looks MUCH SEXIER!!! I think Husky did a great job with this bike, not a 630 replacement for sure but a great bike for people to buy Husqvarna's again and for people to start seeing them on the streets again!

Price will be a big factor.

What does the dash look like??

When will it be available??

From a practicality standpoint, the Terra is probably better suited for the riding I do than my TE630. But, it just doesn't excite me.

If I can handle the financial burden, I plan on keeping my 630 and picking up a street bike next spring. I want to do some sport touring (more sport, less touring).

Suppose I´ll be keeping my 630 too .... and getting a 511. I´m sure that the Husky peeps are doing the right thing ... but just not for me.

The specs looks slow and heavy. It's a poor man's Duke. A pretty DR650. But the price is right... I heard? With ABS the strada would be a real bargain at 7k - if it compensates that tiny brake. But what is the price?
