  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TXC Kickstand

So after a few to many crashes, I needed to do some repair/retrofitting.
First I made a tab to weld to the frame.
Then I cut off some of the boss on the back side of the stand.
Tacked this in place and checked all the clearances, and then welded it solid.
This winter when I tear the suspension apart to clean and grease it, I will reattach the lower chain roller.

Yeah mine rubbed through the finish on my 2009 txc 250 after the first ride. That was after I added 4 washers to the lower mount.
I removed those then switched the kick stand to mount on the outer side of the black bracket, then finally bent it out a 1/4".
Now all is well:cheers:

The inconsistancy in frame dimensions for both 08 and 09 production years is what prompted HSQ IT to change the supplier for 2010 models. No doubt some brackets will need alot of shimming while others none. This phenomenon is also evident if you look at the inside of the left frame riser just inside the footpeg next to the chain. With 40+ bikes I've checked out personally, some the chain just barely rubs the frame and others have tons of clearance. No rhyme or reason, just incosistancies.

What I will say is I'd grind and weld on my TXC frame before bolting that monstrousity to it,........no offense.

That's what we have struggled with as well.

So I know this thread is old but I'm in real need to find a kickstand. I bought a TXC 450 Super Moto from Craigslist and its a pain parking this thing against a wall wherever I go. It appears that a MotoSportz kickstand was once installed on it as the bracket to the frame still exists but the kickstand is gone. Can't find a direct replacement.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The direct replacement should be available through trailtech...
