  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Value of My Husqvarna

What is my bike worth?
It has come to my attention after reading other posts on this forum site that our bikes have seriously begun depreciating in value. I, like others of you out there, want to know why my bike is worth. Now I realize that I am not going to get a standard number such as $5,499. That's something your going to hear from a dealer, not somebody in this site. However, I am simply wanting a round about answer. Since KTM's purchase of the husky brand their has been a lot more talk about the cost of buying a new husky (MY 2013) has plummeting. This in turn lowered the amount of money our bikes are worth. But at the same time something is only worth what people are willing to pay for it. Most of the people on this site, or even visiting this site like husky's, and as such are also going to be the individuals that are going to be willing to pay the most money for a husky (new model or old model). Just because KBB may say one of our bikes is only worth $2,500 doesn't mean that's all somebody may be willing to pay for it. So I ask you, what do you feel our bikes are worth? Mine in this case being a '12 txc310.

(BTW my bike is not for sale at this point. After asking this question (albeit in much less detail) on my bike thread, I had several messages coming to me asking if I would sell my bike, or if I am selling my bike. the answer is no. However, I am curious to know it's worth)

Those people are seriously willing, why don't you ask them what they'd pay if it were for sale? I'd say about 4200. I'd probably pay about the same without the mods maybe about 4 even. With the prices being what they are and it not being plated or a redhead that's where I'd be. Not to mention the prices you can find on them new.
