• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Welcome to the forum! Introduce yourself here!

Newbie

Hey all. Finally found a site that I hope will be of great value as I attempt to get my old '83 500 XC lit up again. It's been sitting unloved for too long now. We've got plent of desert here in Central Washington, just what an XC loves.

New to the group

Well just wanted to introduce myself. I live in Flagstaff AZ. I am looking for a Husky right now. Have one in San Diego (05 TE510) that is within my budget.

I am currently riding a DRZ 400 and have been through DR 650, Husaberg 650, KTM 450 exc, KX 500 and RMX 250.

I am looking for something with more power and less weight than the DRZ but nothing near the Husaberg 650 (death machine for me****************************************).

If anyone is in the Alpine CA area and would not mind looking at a bike for me, please contact me and I will forward you the info of the owner.

Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear this, Tom. :(

Post up about it in the 4-stroke forum and maybe one of our members can help you figure out what's going on.

Hello!!!

Hi all.

Just signed up to the site today....just bought a brand new 2009 (leftover) Husky TE450 last thursday. I must say I am glad to find this site. Things are pretty sparce as far as info on these bikes goes when searching the web compared to the Japanese bikes and KTM's etc. so I was starting to get worried. Hopefully this site will have all the info I am looking for and will need in the future. Looking forward to diving in to the info on this site. I am sure glad it exists!!

Just regd after lurking since buying my TE310 in Dec '09. Love the 2 year warranty hear in Oz. Used to race enduros in the 70s on a WR250 then a WR360 and had a few other Jap 4Ts between then and now.
Live in Sydney and teaching my 15yr old son to ride the old XR which has a 280 kit and still goes well at 21 years old hehe.

Mid-Michigan Husky hellos!

Hey!

Just joined the community today. I just picked up a '79 OR 250 off of Ebay, and will be attempting a restoration on it. I used to race a 250 WR back in the 70's - There's NOTHING like sitting on a Husky!

I look forward to being part of the group!

Great site, with useful info. My first husky was a 1983 wr500, have had umpteen since, all two strokes. My favourite was the '86 430Auto.

I'm in great company at this site, thanks!
