• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Howdy! I had a 400 CR back in the 1970s and never forgot it. Just bought a 1972 450 WR with lights that I hope to ride around here just for fun. I'm in northern New Mexico.

Hey Simon, in the UK here, Hants, buzzing around on SM510R. Excellent site CH methinks. I'm 20 mins from Huskysport. Who's your local dealer? Keith.

Hi Keith,

I bought my bike from HuskySport but they're 2 hours away. That's by van rather than on the TE. Otherwise there's St Blazey Moto in St Blazey Cornwall of all places!

Mail order will be my best friend I think.

Any other Softy Southerner Husqvarnistas?

-Simon

Hope you don't mind me asking but do you do landscaping?! I remember a chat with the wife of a chap at Huskysport some time ago who came up in a van from the SW looking to trade a Bandit I think it was.. I like the St Blazey of St Blazey. Very British!

Hi I'm Jeff from up in BC. I recently picked up a 2009 te510 and couldn't be happier, these bikes are awesome! This site has an amazing amount of information, a big thanks to all the members. I am officially converted to huskies. My son was so amazed at the quality and performance of the 510 that he too went out and got himself an 09 te510. We now have twin Italian girlfriends that love to ride hard

Hello y'all. Just bought a 2000 TE-610 California plated with Motard & dirt wheels.
Already bought a new cam chain, owners & service books from Motoexotica. Gonna wait
Till the bike is serviced and proper before I ride it. Bike came with a new "N-Style" seat cover (un-installed)
And I found the matching shroud stickers on eBay. So the bike will look great and have
A new cam chain before my first ride and crash it.
Happy early Paddys day !

Daniel, I'm in San Mateo (south of San Francisco about 20 miles). I plan on mainly goofing around on the street. My last bike was a '95 Sukuki RMX250 2-stroke and I would take it to Hollister or way north to Forest Hill by Aurburn. Is there good trail riding in Vacaville?

Argyll MX would be the closest place, just outside of Vacaville. Its just a private MX track. I believe Foresthill would be the closest for good trail riding. I was going to race at 408mx this weekend, but it looks like it may get rained out. I may just play around Prairie City on this Sunday.

Not me, I'm afraid!

Daren't go shopping for bikes with my beloved, she just doesn't "get" them. I sold a KTM 990 Adv to fund my Husky, quite a contrast but the TE is so much easier to pick up.

Cheers

Hang town, been there before when outdoor nationals were raced. Dad and I saw Bob Hanna do his best.

Hey guys,
New to the site and to 2 wheels. Live in the sacramento ca area. Picked up a 08 TE510 with under 600 miles.
Been out on it for 2 70mile dirt trail rides and a little in town. Got almost 800 miles on it now.
Pretty happy with it so far, will see how this summer goes, if I still like 2 wheels I might pick up a 610 for more street use.

This is the first bike I've riden. Always been on 4 wheels since I was 4, and started riding quads.
I also snowmobile and have a polaris rzr.

Hi, Greg from NY. I ride an 06 WR125. I haven't riddin in a while and I'm hoping to get the band, I mean bike, back together this year. This bike gave me the most fun I ever had on 2 wheels, don't know why I stopped.

HELLO ID LIKE TO GET IN ON SOME OFF ROAD RIDES AND DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A SKID PLATE FOR AN 06' 510 ? LOCATED IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA NEAR OREGON
LET'S GET A GROUP OF HUSKY RIDERS GOING FOR THE BORDER TOWNS !

Hi Yall!
I am Steve from Moto Hose in York, SC. The site owner called me about making colored radiator hoses for Husky's and suggested I check the site out.

I am an ex Husky rider that raced a 1980 125 CR in B class MX in District 7 Maryland. I bought it from Red Bud cycle in Michigan and had it shipped to me in Maryland. It was a good bike but slow as poop! MXA did a hop up article on the 125 from a shop called PCP - Pro Circuit Products. I orders a pipe from them and put a Mikuni carb on and it helped a lot. BTY .......now days the shop is known as Pro Circuit.

Fast forward a couple years and I am racing a few 500 nationals in 1984 on a Honda. In 1985 I went back to Husky and raced several Nationals on a 500 CR single shocker. At the 1st race Gainsville FL I had what ended up being a problem with the bike that happened at every National that year......It would throw the chain. It happened going into the 1st turn in my qualifier at Gainsville. That was the year Husky had the Dymond / Laporte Pro team with Dick Burlson as the team manager. Dick saw me pushing my bike back to the pits and stopped me to see what was wrong. After giving it a quick look over Dick took the bike from me and told me to meet him back at the starting line for my LCQ. Dick had completely gone threw the bike and did not find anything wrong but he still replaced the chain, rear sprocket and chain guide. Feeling like a factory rider I was stoked for the LCQ. Back then I could not pull a good start to save my life. In the LCQ I got my usual last place start but was quickly blowing by people. That year there was an insane section of the track that had us going basically up a 20 foot wall.......but on an angle. Look in the back ground of the photo below. On the 1st lap guys were lined up and going up the wall one by one........I never hesitated and rode past probably 20 guys across the tires that lined the track then stuffed the last guy and flew up the hill.I put my head down and kept charging.....and was in a qualifying position on the last lap when.........it threw the chain again! I was able to put it back on and finish but had not qualified. :( Even the mighty Dick Burleson had not kept the chain from coming off! What was even stranger is that I never threw the chain racing every week in Maryland / Virginia and Pennsylvania.......but thew it at every National I raced that year including Florida, Michigan & New York. I called it my national jinx that year.

Later that year while racing at Sleepy Hollow in PA after hitting a fast jump the shock shaft snapped off where the clevis attaches and dislocated my shoulder so bad it ended up dislocating 20+ times (I lost count) that year and had to be surgically repaired. (Bristow repair) I also popped my knee at Antietam that year and those injuries put me out of professional racing.
