• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello all, just registered.
Been riding dirt for, geez, 40 years now ( & still wad it up regularly, dammit )
Have had many bikes since the 70's ; elsinores, hodaka, yams, Suzy, kawi's, even a CZ.
Never a husky, although I did lust after the 390 auto for a bit.
Anyway ... most of my riding buddies are getting into dual sport type riding, short rides of 80% gravel or narrow pavement & 20% two track or single track non technical stuff. Typically 50 to 150 miles a day.
Most are on Japanese DS bikes.
The thing is ; I still like to ride some local enduros & cannot imagine doing that on a DRZ or equivalent lead pig of a bike.
I'd kill myself.
A modern K$M is not in the budget as a dirt oriented DS bike so I'm considering a used husky TE 310 or 250.
Hoping to gain some knowledge about the differing model years of these bikes to make a good decision.
Suggestions, tips appreciated.
Thanks !

Hi all, I just received a super clean used 2012 TE 310 w/ 290 miles for my 50th B day from a good friend who also has a 310. Looking forward to a lot of dual sport riding here in SoCal L.A area.

Hey y'all:cheers:

I just joined after seeing this site through my searching for a chain and sprocket set up. I have just recently bought a 2000 TE610 kickstart only and besides my left leg getting a serious workout trying to start it, I am loving this beast. I went from riding a 120-ish hp 2005 RC51 that was, well, overweight:D Now onto this sexy, svelt and feathery thing! About half the weight and about half the ponies at the wheel and :censored: is this thing fast!

I can't wait to lose my license:busted:

Hello Husky World,

Just got back into dirt after 30 years, filled in 20 of those on the street! But street bikes don't do well transporting kids around! So see ya later street hello dirt! Bought a 2012 TXC 310 last month and love IT! I have enjoyed reading many a comment so far and have realized that the TXC is setup from the factory just about perfect and to add some protection to the bike and me and ride****************************************!

See Ya on the trials.

Coffee thanks for putting this site together!

Good day fellow riders,
I just got my hands on an 05' te510, and real excited about it. :applause:
I want to go ahead and put a street legal lighting kit on it for riding some street to get to some off road trails, any suggestions?
I found the Tusk kit from Rocky Mtn. but they are out of stock on it.
I appreciate it! Now, let me learn more about Cafe Husky as I surf with my coffee.

New "old" guy here. I am well almost 70 years old. I have been working on bikes for about 45 years.
I have just purchased a 2013 Husqvarna TC 449 with only a few hours on it.
I will have questions.

Hi I just wanted to introduce myself. I picked up a '99 CR250 that was CLAPPED out for very cheap and have been rebuilding it from the bottom up. This forum has been a great resource to me.

Hi fellow Husky owners I have a 2012 te 310 great little bike. I did the oil and filter change after a few hours as I bought it with 1500km on the clock. I am not sure what oil was in so I used Motul 300v 10w 40 fully synthetic, now it silps out of gear when hot but only out of 5th and 6th has anybody had or heard of this before do you blokes think the oil could cause such a problem. By the way great forum.

Welcome Railit,

I just bought a used txc 310 and also just changed oil with honda 10w 40 syn. My clutch feels better than whatever was in there before, BUT I have not run my bike hard yet! I will let you know if I run into any problems. There are a bunch of threads on oil and filters here - most guys are running 0W - 40. Search oil change for TE or TXC 310 and you should find anyone else with that problem. Good luck!

Hey all. New member here. I've got a '76 WR250 I'm riding/restoring. I haven't seen a vintage section here, so not sure where to post. Guidance would be greatly appreciated. I have a few questions about it. Thanks, Nick

Hey guy's, just joined, and I just bought my first road bike last week. Picked up a 2013 tr650 strada with 855 miles on the clock. Stumbled across this site while trying to find a exhaust for it. I think it's to quiet.

Hello all!

I'm Daniel from Portugal and just bought a TE 510 from 2008 with only 1834km on it! It's like new!!!

So I will take it to the a dealer as it certainly has the bad map (early 2008) in the ECU (stalls too much...) but first will install a DIY Power Up kit, 2.2K 1/2W Resistor to turn on Race Mode in the ECU, good pipe, and accelerator stop removal.

Cheers all
