Greeting all,
Yesterday morning I got up and was in a strange mood. After getting my boy dressed we headed down to my local husqvarna dealer. Where Id been looking at bikes for the last three years. I had two I was looking at. Then after a short talk with the salesman "Lon" and Bill, again about what I wanted to do as far as riding, I told him I was going to the movies with my boy and I'll think about it some more. We went and saw the new penguins movie where to my surprise, didn't think about the bikes at all.? After the movie we went to the bank. Then back to the dealer all this time waiting for a sign or some voice to tell me this isn't a good idea.
Nope nothing to indicate what I was about to do was wrong.
Now I've been that tire kicker for three years or so bugging Bill and his crew, asking question like a kid in elementary school asking over and over again. See I've always wanted a dirt bike and being a military kid we never had a place to ride or keep the bikes and I don't think mom and dad had the money. Bill had always been extremely patient with me and we got on a first name basis to every time I came to his shop he'd say hi Graham and we'd make small talk, snever once pressure me to buy.
Any way I purchased a bike!
This is my first dirt bike! I bought a 2015 fe350
After loading my boy and I went straight home. While getting my gear I'd been buying for the last few years piece by piece. The BOSS came out and with out a hesitation she's
"WTF DID YOU DO ! ?"
Me with a smile I just said "something I've always wanted to do." Then she's all where are you going? I replied going to the races. With big smile.
I do normally ask and talk about large purchases but this time well I can't explain it, was like if fate didn't stop me from buying, I wasn't letting anything els stop me. I'm a responsible parent and make sure bills are paid food in the fridge so…
After grabbing my gear I head to the fair grounds where they where getting ready to practice and race. So I signed up for the beginner class knobby. (Flat track racing)
I had to put a number on the bike they told me, my buddy Jon spots off "he's number #1". I tun an look at him with a thought of Great I think to my self all these guys are going to think…
Jon says the easiest number to make is the number one with tape.
Well I had fun, scared the crap out of myself haha. Finished last in practice and in the heat races and in the main I crashed. Didn't get hurt, scratched the bike and had a wonderful time best of all my wife (the Boss) showed up to watch.
Just an awesome day. From dealer to the track then dinner and to bed.
Thanks Bill and Jon, Tom for helping me out.
