• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Wow! I am excited about this site. I have always been a KTM guy but my brother and I went in on very clean 02 WR360 just today. Looking forward to riding it.

New to the forum. I've mostly ridden Honda's, but I'm hoping a Husky SM or DS will be in my future. Thought this place would be worth checking out...

A Husky SM -or- a DS?

But...aren't they one in the same??

Welcome to CafeHusky, jckid, and good luck in your search for the perfect machine:thumbsup:

I'm one of those dreaded BMW guys (1150GS) thinking of moving much further from the street. I'm shopping around for a lightly used TE610 with plans of making it, for lack of a better description, a go-anywhere-lunatic's KLR. I've enjoyed the big GS, but I'm bored with the long distance stuff and want to explore the more gnarly stuff that's in abundance out here. I'll miss its blend of comfort and pavement abilities, but that's ok.

Been riding for....ooooo... 16 years now, recently converted to a dirt rider. Currently have a DRZ400e, but am looking for something with a little more power and a 6th gear. For now, just browsing and looking for info on the Eyetalian motorbikes y'all be riding.

Thanks

Damn....there goes the neighborhood :D

Lots of good people in here, and the bikes... Well they pretty much just kick ass!

Later,

P.s. Don't let this guy near your kids bikes...

Thanks for the welcome!

Thanks to all... I have a 2007 TE 510. Currently restoring a 1977 390 right now as well. Very happy Husky owner!

Welcome to CafeHusky, knary

Can you not have both the GS and a TE? I don't think I could go with just a 610 as my only road-worthy bike after having had real streetbikes...

I'm working on it, but I don't see it happening. We've got some big house expenses coming up that make buying a second toy a little less than responsible. :D

Ahh...I understand that all too well. I've needed new linoleum in my kitchen for the last 15 years. The excuse was always, "eh...can't afford it." Well, after bringing home 8 new motorcycles during that time, the excuse just doesn't hold water anymore. Now it's "eh...don't have time" because there are too many motorcycles to maintain:D

Hi Guys

Nice to see a site dedicated to Huskys.

I have 2, an '01 TE400 and an '07 TE610, and although I've owned a lot of bikes these are my favourites to date I must say.
