• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

No Huskies yet, but soon. I've owned a multitude of both street and off-road bikes, and the garage is currently max'ed out at five. Should I sell the bagger or the dirt tracker or the one-off YZ200 or my YZ167 woods bike ... and don't even think about the SRX6 'super single' ... to accomodate the TC250?

Oooh!! SRX6! Sexiest street single ever! I don't blame you for not wanting to sell it! I loved riding the SRX...once I figured out the kickstarting drill, that is :D Nice to have you here at CafeHusky:thumbsup:

Hello everyone, I am happy to have found this great Husky site. I live in Brisbane, Australia and own a 1980 CR250 that I purchased when new. The Husky was ridden quite a bit for the first 4 years of its life, mainly mountain trails with a few pony express type events also. After many years of sitting around I decided to carry out a restoration. I like to do whatever I can myself so only a very few jobs were sent out. The bike now looks really good but finding the opportunity to ride it is the problem.

Cheers
Mark

Welcome to CafeHusky, HVA_Moto! Now get on over to the Vintage Forum and post up some photos of your CR :D

Looks like I have some reading to do.
I rode Droolsport's 450, and I dig it.

Well, no wonder you're a GrumpyDog  Husky=HappyDog  Good luck in your reading and welcome to CafeHusky!

The Husqvarna brand is legendary, but my '95 610 has collected more dust that real dirt. George at UpTite is fixing the stator magnets now so that should get me smiling again. Great forum and can't wait to chat with you guys about a beautiful bike that runs.

DirtBert:banghead:

Yeah, DirtBert, I agree: Bikes are much more beautiful when they run:D

Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am thinking of purchasing a Husky in the near future. I am stepping up from a CRF 230F and want something that is street legal in NJ. Any insight you can provide would be grateful. 5'10", 190lbs w/gear. I'm not a great rider but have been riding turkey runs in NH with my bud who lives up there.

Thanks!
Dave

Welcome to CafeHusky, dirtbike D  Good luck in your search for a street legal dirtbike!

Welcome ASR,

Well in my books one can never have too many motorcycles. Post up a few pics if you'd like. They all don't have to be Huskys either. I'd loved to see your collection.

Big hello to everyone
Had an 06 Husky WR 250 for a couple of years now ( soon to be replaced with 2010 WR 300

And a big HELLO right back at ya lunatick. 2010 might be the year that I add a 300 to the stable to.

a Husky from the Buckeye state

Hi All, on my 3rd Husky and this is the best one to date!! I had a 01 WR250 and a 04 TC450 and now a 08 TE250 that I rode today for the first time. I also had some blue bikes and some orange ones too and nothing compares to the Huskies. Easy to work on, reliable and built to last. I love being the only Husky in my riding group too. This TE250 is a blast and will be even better after the 300 kit this winter. I am weighing the options of a stroker crank and big bore to try to acheive 330-350 cc's like the KTM featured in this months issue of dirtbike magazine. I weight 240 with gear on and the 350 or so would be perfect.........looking forward to contributing and have already got lots of great tips from this site. Thanks all, ride safe
