As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
The rear tyre was not hard to change, I fit all my own tyres myself at home with the same levers I carry on the bike. Good practice, in case I have to do one on the trail. [easier to break the bead than a mongrel DR650]What's the rear tyre like to change nz gravel man? I've done the front, was easy, not looking forward to rear
How you liking the terra?
I used to 'close the side' of TKC's on F800GS so no problems with leaning. Although subject to some shimmy as speed grows (starting @ 120 km/h ~80 miles/h). Abit more careful riding needed on wet. Back tire lasts not too long when ridden lots aggressively on pavement.Question is ,do the Tkc80s ride nearly as well on the black as the Sahara ?
Hey guys,
I changed the tires out on my Terra for an ADVenture ride some of the guys I ride with did up in mtns of Western, N.C. I had looked at all of what was available and being a Metzeler fan from way back , I opted for a set of Karoos, the front works real good and the rear off road shames the Sahara, on road they roar a bit butt that's ok with me I got what I was looking for. The traction in the outback of the mtns was what I needed, not being as good a rider off road as my riding buds, these tires gave me some confidence....might not be for every one but they filled the bill for me.....oh they were supposed to be OEM on a KTM 950
I had the same ultra heavy in both tires from montana to utah....they change handling/performance to much for me....went back to HDThese monsters showed up today.Figured I'd do everything I can to keep air in the tires. Going to stick them in the new TKC 80's this weekend. Big enough? Jeez.

I am still running mefo super explorer with 8000 miles on and will likely do 2000 more. They are pricey but seem to be holding up good...1500 miles offroad.
Tkc 80 in front mefo super explorer on rear.Good to know. I'll keep that in mind. What tires were you running?
