• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What non husky did you cherish at one time?

Thanks. As you can imagine, at 400 lbs wet, it was a pig on single track... but it was a hoot on fire/logging roads. :D

I was tempted a couple of times to buy a 640A. Yours was a beauty for sure. I'll refrain from asking if paint store managers would flag you down in small towns, so they could put a gallon on the rack and ask you to rev it.:D Oops... I said it!:busted: Oh shoot, the price of my 610 seat just doubled!:banghead: Very nice bike.

Perhaps even tripled.

My '03 wasn't to bad compared to '02 and earlier... but compared to the Sherco, it was a paint mixer for sure.
Big honkin', part-of-the-original-design, counterbalancers are a wonderful thing. :applause:

That would be the probe for the Oscillation Overthruster. Had one on my Hodaka... until a squirrel thinking it was a nut, ate it.

Nice! What is the electronic looking thing (black) on the front hub?
That would be the brake light switch. There's another one (hidden under the frame) behind the rear brake pedal.

Shhhhhhhhh! Don't be giving away the ancient Hodaka secrets. Whatever you do... DON'T reveal that the chrome cylinder under the front of the seat is really a flux capacitor.

No one said we couldn't have two we cherished.
Here's my first big bore machine a 1982 370 Can am Qualifier.
I changed something on it that is quite noticeable.
Anyone wants to guess....
