• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

When is too much?

Is there such a thing of putting a price tag on something you love.. I didn't think so...

Go for it! Some people enjoy customizing there cars and trucks and street bikes, I have done all that but I'm into dirt bikes now so I have spent a ton on that. It's highly unlikely that you or I will ever get back what we put into our bikes other than in the form of enjoyment! Here is mine.

Awesome Mark!! She looks familiar!!!

I like it too! That looks awesome. I will continue to Bling up my Berg, I know it drive some guy's crazy but just like you I enjoy doing it.

Half the fun of owning the bike is hooking it up to reflect you, the owner/rider. an 07 can go for many years with basic maint and then if you want more power, do a 310 kit. You have uber options with that platform as a base. I say as long as you are paying your bills and other obligations, then go for it!

I would only spend money into a carb bike....I am very dissapointed with the efi...

.... But it´s true that you can find more easy parts for the new models...

To much is when you think its to much, we all spend to much on things we love. I have 3 bike at the moment and if you include my wife bike its 4, I"m about to start looking for a 1985 Suzuki GSXR 750 to restore because that was my first love in the bike world, and now I"m bleeding that I sold the one had

because over here they range between 4000-20000. But like I said its when you think its too much (or when you get a girl friend and they think its too much

I love those red frame bikes.

I'd like to have an '07 TE something to invest in, but I wouldn't do it with an '08 to '10 EFI bike. I think the pre '08 make a great DS or SM bike and have a bite of trouble blinging one out for my ride. Someday I'm going to ( would like to ) run across a good '06-'07 TE deal and bling it out with a red frame job.

Ok, laugh and tease if you must. But I feel comfortable being able to touch, for now

.

The seat is at 32 1/2 inches, and my handlebars are narrowed to 30 1/2 inches. The rest is all FUN stuff that I have picked out and learned about here on Cafe Husky!

Next year will be the 300 kit and a white frame****************************************

very very nice!! I hope you ride it some! just kidding. The bling looks good & I know it makes your ride more fun! I just got a 310 kit in my 05 & I love it. Didn't paint the frame though! ha!

If you're into the red accent color, you could paint the black valve cover red to look like the 2008's.....4 bolts and a little time to paint is all it takes. Kudos to your BF for all the work he's done to your bike. He may not say it, but I'll bet he has a love of bikes too to do all that work.

Oh, you must get a Up-Tite skid pan! The Leo Vince pipe is new. How do you like it? The black rims, and the bike look great!

The Leo Vince pipe is new. How do you like it?

Well, Ive only ridden it around the house a bit the day I took the picture. We just got 20" of snow since that day.

But, it has "snap" or, throttle response now that it didnt use too. Its hard to describe, but it seems like it will rev up more easily now. Its a little louder than I like too.

I found a website called P3, that makes carbon fiber stuff for it . . . . hmmm . .

Your bike looks really nice and I would have a real hard time parting with something that dialed in, but there is something about new bikes that just eats at the brain. They haven't made the perfect bike yet so there's always the hope the next one will be it. (who am I kidding?

) I'm having a very similar decision problem with my 06 KTM, hoping a GG 2T will be that perfect bike. I have the KTM so dialed in and it's so a part of me I really struggle to say goodbye and start over, but it's not a 2T and my mind is made up. I'm going back. But as others mentioned setting one up to your likes is part of the fun. Yours is pretty blinged out though!
