• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Picklito you rock. I ordered parts from HVA but forgot that bearing that Huskyhamm advised me of, so if I can get one here I'll be super happy! Thanks Chris

Got the air box glassed and painted, also the new reed block installed and the carb too. Got the bearing for the clutch basket (Thanks Picklito and Huskyhamm) and closed that side up. Will try to finish the exhaust this weekend so I can try to start it. I'm looking for a source for the large motoplat connectors.

Thanks , I bought the ones from the US. We'll see how they work. The originals are too big to fit in the sheathing so ya gotta cut them off! Got the pipe blasted and painted! Getting close to starting!

Second kick, congratulations!

I primed the cylinder with an injection of fuel.:D But I am sooooo happy she runs and responds to the choke and idle screw. Everyone of you were instrumental to this job. The answers to questions, the advise, and the understanding that this pile could be resurrected instead of being parted out and never living it's dream of kicking ass in the dirt.:oldman: It ain't done but is closer than ever.:notworthy: Think it is not true? Look at the first post!!THANKS TO YOU GUYS!! Chris

Got some parts today, filters, spoke torque wrench and the large connectors for the motoplat. The first is the fit on the coil, real nice. The second is the old one on the left and the new one on the right. The last pic what is the bottom pin for on the coil?

I'm thinking of re placing the wheels and spokes. Where should I look for the correct setup parts? Buchannan has Sun rims they will anodize gold for 58$ polish for 102$ and the rim is around 300$ Plus the SS nut and spoke kit 108$, That's around 600$ per wheel without the work to build them. Is that price reasonable? Are there other suppliers that I should check out?
