Looks like someone will be getting a great deal on an almost new tire?

    Interesting. Tires are very subjective.

I went to Moon Rocks in Nevada last weekend and just did 50 miles of singletrack at Georgetown yesterday. I thought the golden tyre worked great under power but felt terrible under braking. I guess it's just me.

Sorry the tire didn't work out for you. The tire is a directional tire which has double cups on the back sides of the knobbies for increased braking power. The leading edge of the front tire usually wears first and I find it curious that your braking edge is worn more. Anyway, I understand that this tire isn't for everyone and I have no doubt that your front tire will find a happy home. :)

I didn't realize it was directional until i took the rim down to the shop to get it mounted.

Guess he's decided to keep it. Oh well, another run to Oak Hills is in my future.

144 on MX track go with the standard 90/90/21. Trails and off road go with the fatty. IMHO.

I love that place. So far, my favorite place to ride.

To be honest, I didn't realize it was directional either. It's very possible that I mounted it backwards. I'm going to give it another try on my dualsport.
Thanks for the heads up guys!

Also make sure you dont run to low of a pressure. Mine likes 3-5 pounds more than I normally run.

True statement, these tires are so fresh, with tall sidewalls, that running traditional pressure would make it seem flat tied into the truck. Then when it broke in after 40-50 miles it looked like I had a leak somewhere. Finally just bumped it up and all better.

I'll be using mine for the first time down at the Tecate enduro. What do you think-14lbs? (normally run 13 with all other tires).
