Nice! Digging your setup Fab. Black looks cool and that windshield is killer. Looking forward to hearing how that works. Cheers! P.S. you holding out for the "right" skidplate too?[/quote]

Thanks! The windscreen works even better than I had hoped. It makes the bike even more pleasant to ride....I have my own little world behind there! I really notice how sweet the bike sounds now too.

I am holding out for my brain to come up with a good idea for a skid plate. I am determined to make my own. Carbon fiber and chromoly tubing are probably going to be my materials of choice. The Speedbrain Dakar bike has something like what I want. The Motosportz skid would be my first choice if I was to buy one. If my time runs out before spring, then I may well have a Motosportz plate.

Now...I just have to get a good bar set up like yours! That will be next.

Nice break in the Weather in Portland today. Testing out the new high fender on the Strada.

Managed to get 150 miles of exploring in with only about 20 minutes of rain.

Took the Terra out to Bartlett Lake area, North East of Phoenix. I must admit I love the Terra but took her a bit out of her element today, 10 miles of sandwash!! I could hardly keep her on two wheels, but managed by just gassin' it, like you have to do on the sand dunes, def shows her weight on this kind of terrain. Nonetheless enjoyed every minute of it. Into the canyon I went, getting more narrow by the second, and looking at all the critter prints on the ground this is a highway for them, just hoping not to run into one of the Big Cats known to be in the area coming around the next bend. Made it out safely. FabOneUp, your picture of the Terra near a saguaro is "sort of" there..

Nice! Thanks. That will have to hold me over till I can get one of my own! I think maybe you can hold your own with the Terra if you did 10 miles of sand wash.:)

Another day in paradise! It was 25 degrees when I left and 19 degrees when I made it back home! Ran into a major snow storm before I got to my favorite coffee shop so I had to resort to coffee at a gas station until the storm caught me again. It was a great ride and I got to test out all the new goodies.

You lot in the States are nuts! I've never seen snow like that and many of us stop riding when it gets below 10 or 12C (around 50F) but then I know I'm not really set up for the cold.

It really is all about what you wear. I have a great snowmobile suit that I use. Got rid of the sleds, but kept the suit for just such occasions. Ski goggles that won't fog are a must also.

Great point. And it is about the time of year when the cold weather clothing might be at reduced prices at sled & ski shops.

50% Off at Big D Motorsports! They are our local Arctic Cat snowmobile dealer. They are clearing out snowmobile gear and making room for Husky ride gear. I would imagine all sled dealers are similar.

    Had to Bump this thread:
Me, Dad, Brother, and Friend Jeff went for a 185 mi ride yesterday. The snow is melting a lot quicker this year! It was a great day to get out for some exploration and play some GPS Bingo. Ended up doing an really fun traverse that kept us off the pavement most of the day. Some pics:

This was a good day. Several dirt, mud, snow, and slush miles. Mostly mud. I have built a Rally bike. I wish I had a helmet cam to post movies instead of pics. This is an extremely capable machine as it sits. The tire diggs into anything! The motor grunts through everything. I stick to the Pivot Pegz, even in all the mud. I love this bike!
