So are you saying you can keep it running but it just doesn't idle. Or does it just quite and dies. If it is set up rich enough to idle good when cold with the choke off, it will be too rich once warmed up.

No, it starts idles and runs fantastic but after 10 minutes or so it just instantly quits and then wont start until a minute or two, the spark plug is dry and black.

well I stated the only issues I had, which one was fitment and the other was previous issues with whats most likely electrical causing my dry black spark plug. When I first started the bike with the new lectron carb, the only thing I had to do was turn down the idle just a tad but the bike runs flawlessly until it warms up. The bike wont even hesitate when I turn the throttle as fast as I can, it just takes it and revs right up with no issue and no bog, even the top end has fantastic power but I really need to figure out my black dry plug issue before I can really continue and test it more. If there's anything specific you want to know just ask, im more than happy to help in any way I can and can take pictures if needed.

I read your earlier trouble, but didn't know it was a 510 you were working on because I don't remember you saying it was. I thought it was another 2 stroke instal. I guess if the plug is black the carb must be rich though. Does it smoke at idle or when you rev it? Does the exhaust burn your nose and eyes at idle or just off when you walk to the rear of the bike?
Like has been mentioned- if you had the same problem before, then it's probably not the carbs fault.
When it quits, have you checked for spark?
Have you gone through the wiring and checked all the connectors?
    Tried a new plug?

Nope it doesn't smoke a single bit, the exhaust does not burn my nose or eyes at all and I have yet to check the coil but I still am trying to find out how to do that and I did check spark more than once, one time the spark was really dull yellow and not strong and then the other time it was bright blue. I checked the connectors and they seemed just fine and I did put a new plug in and it still does the same thing. I did check the spark right after it died once and there was no spark at all.

I don't know the resistance values for the coil.
If you haven't already I would start a new thread to find out how to check it out and someone should come along to help.

    Getting back to your Lectron:
Was you idle very steady and come right back down after running hard?
Did you need the choke to start cold?

The idle has been perfectly steady and only needed to be turned down just a hair on initial start up but it idles perfect even after its hot or run hard but the bike dies when it gets up to temp but thats why I want to test the coil. I did not need choke at all on startup due to it being just a hair high on initial startup but its fine now.

Very interesting. I think the 4 stroke carbs need sorted more but there are two reports now that the Lectron makes crazy power on 4 strokes. Xcuvator has been working on one with a 610 but is still having issues. What he did say though is that the Lecton makes it crazy fast on top and accelerates like a modern short stoke bike and wheelies like crazy. We need to get this sorted as it sounds like the Lectron might be a great 4 stroke carb once figured out.

I have looked into converting a EFI bike to carb and there is way to much to deal with to tackle that.
