• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2014 Husqvarna line

On a positive note,
The new bikes look great and SP has taken great fanfare to relaunch his vision of Husqvarna.

(Hopefully my next comments do not stray far from this thread title)

What's to become of our previous generation machines? I mean, if I blow the tranny from my SMR 450/530, do I start sourcing replacement parts from eBay? How about support for the 449/511 line? Or the Terra/Strada, Nuda? Will pricing be on the Husaberg or KTM level? I still have questions/ concerns about the longevity of my 3 bikes that go beyond 2014.

I'm not in the market for a new bike, but if I were, I'd be looking at the new Husky. It's no longer different or unique, it's very much like the Japanese bikes; pick your color. I hope dealer support here in the great white north will be better than previously done.

Congrats on your new addition .
He was born on the 28th and I'm already brainwashing him with YouTube videos and motorcycle magazines :)

It was funny because with taxes last year mywife gave me the "ok" for a bike and then about 2 weeks later we found out lol
I'm thinking one of us planned it that way lol
I wouldn't trade him for anything though, it's so cool watching them grow up. It wil be nice because when the kids are older we can trade bikes :)

I'm 54 now and my son is 32; we have traded bikes many times :D. He's on what was my 2011 TM 250Mx and I have his 2010 TC250. Hey I now have four grandkids on bikes and a new grandson born on the 30th of September and I'm already letting him hear bikes being tested as I decide on my next bike purchase. It's all good and makes this whole Huskaberg deal not seem like such a big deal. Enjoy!

Well congrats on the new grandkid!

I know how strongly you feel about this, and it is sad that the brand has moved away from the Italian factory, especially for the workers there. You do have plenty of options to stick with the Italian bikes for many years to come, although they would not be new bikes.

I do have a request for you, could you continue to try not to keep complaining about what has already happened (I really can tell you are trying)? I'm getting a lot of input on how this site is becoming less desirable to visit with the constant complaining about what has already happened, which no one can do anything about.
Got ya. And not a problem. And not the only guy out there. Not really complaining. Stating simple facts. But like my new attitude. Just don't care and would rather take time to teach my son how to ride his new PW 50!...........................................And at least it looks ALOT better as a Husky then it ever has as a KTM.....................................LOL I'm with ya. A good informative site for everyone.

I think the new bikes look great , and i think they will only get better in time . i for one am so glad KTM now owns HUSKY , at least KTM will try to make the brand strong , BMW sucked AND always will, no matter what they produce . even if the model i bought was a BMW/HUSKY afterthought ,. at least it has husky stickers LOL .

Many of us love the 449/511 platform here. And the much BMW TR650. BMWs are all over ADV doing amazing things. To say they suck is a big stretch IMHO but we are all open to our opinions. I am far from a BMW lover but also dont hate their products and do like some of the advances they seems to be willing to try. I rode a friends 1300R several times. It is actually an amazing bike.

When my youngest was growing up, his primary colors were Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki & VOR!

My oldest son wants a Kawasaki just because it's green. A blue and yellow Husky 65 was on Craigslist but he said it looked like a girls bike lol. Maybe my daughter would appreciate it :)
