• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Ray Ray, just think how some of the old Brits feel about a "Mini Cooper" being built by the same company who made the engines of some of the bombers from Nazi Germany. Nobody ever seems to ask where BMW got their roundel design from haha.
On the other hand, we can thank allied bombers for Ducatis.
I guess my point is that something good can come from this despite how sour it may be at the moment for a purist like yourself.

No purist here ... a realist would be closer ... the same angles over and over get a little old ... we need more of the members here to bring new angles here ...

What do you mean?
There are thousands of members here on this site .. The more people who response on any given subject, the better that the subject matter might can get covered ... Sort of the saying, 2 heads are better than one ...

Wonder if they will import the TE125?

Man I hope so, I will by one and turn it into a 200

I like the Sherco as well , BUT I promised myself I will never buy generation 1 anything. Did that with the Turbo Diesel trucks , never again. Let alone a $10,000 dirt bike

I see your point, however, Im curious to see what happens; where this will all be in a year or so.

I am actually.....cough, cough, cough, thinking of the 300IR. We actually have a dealer near by. I am probably waiting until 2015 to make any new 2T moves as I think there will be exciting stuff available both new tech and optimized old tech.

Stretching the boundaries of this thread a bit - I want to develop skills and keep the hours down on my TXC310 which absolutely works for me and has been perfectly troublefree over 100 hours ..... without further adoo http://www.osetbikes.com/us/us-oset-latest-news/pat-smage-aboard-oset-20-0-en-US/

Hmmpt - just checked for a local dealer - the same dealer that sold me my Husky and carries KTM handles these too - MotoCity in Avondale, Az

The owner of All American KTM was just in Austria for a meeting. He says things look bleak (in so many words) for us "new" Husky owners.

Well we all want hear the truth and not a bunch of fluff. I wonder what the TR owners are going to get in the way of support?

I bought and Oset 20" this past winter. The thing is awesome! My kids are out riding it before school in the mornings without pissing off the neighbors because it is silent. You can lay it down in the back a car with the seats folded down because here is no fuel to leak. I am 6'2" and around 175lbs and can have a blast on this little bike. we have just about 1 acre in a subdivision and created our own mini-trials/extreme enduro circuit. It has good torque even with me on it, although the response of the electric motor takes time to adjust to and the lack of a clutch or gears. Because it only weights around 65lbs, it is easy to lift when the kids tip it. No need to drive anywhere to ride and so you can work on your skills everyday if you wish. The only real maintenance is putting aijr in the tires and oiling the chain.

Which is it, more responses or close the thread? We will post in another thread anyway. Post on brothas.

- And I'm with you on all this, I think it is sad huskys is virtually going away and KTMs with husky badges in their place. Thats just less choices plan and simple. Hope I get proven very wrong with all new unique huskys in the near future.
