• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2014 Husqvarna line

It will be interesting seeing what what they field bike wise for the MXGP and MX2 class. I have a feeling that Ice1 racing will have a change in their line up with Xaiver Boog based on an interview with MXGP.TV.

I'm really hoping in a few years time husky once again finds it's own "thing" and is somewhat individuale. If not I don't see how it is a husky just like there is no Berg left in the Bergs which is sad to me. Might be great bikes but just because you put a sticker on a KTM/Berg does not make it something new and cool IMHO. Maybe they will allow them to do cool stuff and be individual like Berg got to do with the 70 degree motor or something. Will be interesting to see this all unfold.

They will be different in coming years, as early as 2015. KTM owns White Power suspension which is installed on current KTM and Bergs, but the WP suspension on the berg/husky's is a lot better than what you see currently on the KTMs. Engineering technology will be shared between the two companies, which is a good thing. ZipTy made many technological advancements with the Husqvarnas, many of which we never received any credit for. We are hopeful to not only be given the chance to work with the new Husqvarna but that the current administration defrays from old BMW business practices.

Got this in my Google+ feed:

You'll see I tried to be polite and ask if these were MY 2013.5. Here's Husky's page with the "110th Anniversary" editions

Definitely looks like a case of trying to get rid of inventory created under the "old-guard" with BNG, particularly with the 650s still in the mix.

Thanks for the post ...

It is confusing info ...I mean, who do we thank here for these bikes? The former or the latter owners?

Looks like the rear fenders on the 110th anniversary 449/511s are different?

Maybe my comment was too direct, but I kind of feel insulted because I am left wondering if they think their fans are that ignorant. Am I supposed to be excited because they stamped the old bikes with a 110th anniversary graphic in the upper right hand corner of the old images? - Yes I am waiting for my phone call to tell me to shut up, again.

I feel the same way. More like a half-ass tribute to 1980s splatter paint. They didn't even bother to incorporate anything into the graphic about the anniversary. It is what it is...a weak way to market clearance inventory.

Beside the new graphics and the black rims our engineers kept on working on the 302cc engine. They were able to improve the electric- and the kick-start which guarantees you to fire up your bike more easily and get going again no matter where you are.

I hope the 110th Anniversary Husky's don't get the same death sentence the 25th Anniversary Husaberg's are getting. Most of us want to see the current Husky models live on and evolve. Sadly it seems there are some that are fine with buying a different color then orange KTM that says Husaberg or Husqvarna on it.

Husaberg models live on with the Husky name, so they don't really die. Husky models on the other hand.... are going to be really dead. It's happened before to Husky bikes with Cagiva and Husaberg sprung forth. Now we watch it again with KTM and Husaberg is absorbed back into what it came from.

Benedict Foley is correct, Husky is a thing of the past. Again. :o
