• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Actual news on the KTM purchase of Husqvarna

Go Dirt Bikes ! I don't give a damn about the color.

 Absolutely. I ride with lots of people and trade off a lot. All bikes are good. The setup makes more difference than the actual bike these days because lets face it, 90% can't use the bike at maximum performance anyway. I fell in love with the Berg FE390. Pick what excites you, massage it to perfection and ride ride ride.

I rode Passe Stelvio in '05 on a Eidelweiss Tour. Trip of a lifetime. It's just as much fun as looks, those pics are only half of the turns.....

Witnessed that mystery blender up at the Maine National a few years ago Joe. Come to my clubs NETRA HS May 4/5th and race a ski resort in southern NY. Awesome trail. I was in the Fun Mover with my buddies from NJ and NY at that silt run enduro in Maine. LOL. I bought a new Huskie for that race just to smoke my buddie. It worked. Stop by the Fun Mover and say hello. I'll be the guy with the lamp shade on my head telling lies.

But I believe Electrolux owns the rights to the name "Husqvarna"
Electrolux owned Husqvarna from 1978 to 2006, when Husqvarna left as it's own company again. Electrolux no longer owns Husqvarna name, Husqvarna Group does. I guess SP doesn't really know, who his legal team is dealing with on the rights to use Husqvarna name. It's like assuming... Ford still owns Volvo and they don't.

Still gagging over his view of "outdated off road line and non existent mx line" He is either ignorant to the 250-310 x-lite, wr/cr125 range, or he choses to ignore it.

I asked our rep..we are a Husqvarna lawn and chain saw dealer, and he told me that Electrolux spun off Husqvarna but still owns the majority of their stock. They are both listed on the stock exchange but Electrolux currently owns most of the stock. So they actually still own the name and brand. In the US both are now HQ'ed in Charlotte but run as separate companies. Electrolux wanted out of the day to day decision making of lawn and garden and is concentrating on the white goods business. BTW Husqvarna Outdoor Power has flourished under the new arraignment. They now have 34% of the total US lawn and garden business.
