• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Actual news on the KTM purchase of Husqvarna

Wow they have the blue KTM guys mad, the orange KTM guys mad, the Husky guys mad......so who's happy ? Maybe it will all turn out ok in the end.

What belonged together, belongs together!
After 25 years of independence, 2013 marks the date in which Husaberg returns to Husqvarna and forms the "new" Husqvarna – excellent bikes with a unique story. A mixture of tradition, history, style and racing.

Or so Husaberg says on Facebook today. And apparently Husaberg didn't announce this to their customers until 6 hours ago. I have seen some upset customers over this whole merger, but nothing like I did today.

All this Swede reuniting business has me thinking ----- an effort must be made to get 7 time world enduro champ Anders Eriksson (semi-retired) back on a Husqvarna as a legend rider he needs to be back on the marque**************************************** (He was with Yamaha and now Sherco since his last days racing with BMW)
1 x HBG, 6 x HUS, if anyone will be good as a brand ambassador advertising poster boy, get Anders back in the fold!!!

Roof of Africa is a cool event, one of my favorite of the hard enduros. And a Husky is probably going to win it.

Ok, a KTM will, but it'll SAY Husky on it.

Cool to see you guys talking about Anders Eriksson! Agree it would be cool see him ride a Husky again, As someone mentioned he's racing the Sherco fourstroke. He is also involved in training our ISDE junior team and doing a VERY good job guiding the swedish junior riders.

A little more info is filtering out.... This bike is an example of what a privateer or small team could build for the new MX300 MXGP Series. Take a soon to be introduced Husqvarna TC250 and the Husky Products Racing Parts catalog, for a 300 kit, carbon subframe, and blue billet bling and you're ready to rock!

It is kinda sexy, needs the husky logos integrated more so it does not look like stickers slapped on. Still a berg. A nice one but a berg.

Still a KTM.

Beautiful, but yet to get it's own identity.

I hope to see real separation over the next few years. Is it too much to hope that they may make use of Huskies 2t tech they had developed, that Peirer noted as being so interesting?

KTMs own DFI patent drawings show use of an Orbital type, high pressure system. I like far simpler types of DFI, such as Athenas. There are many ways to skin a cat, but I tend to like the simpler options, that make use of a 2ts natural flow patterns.

Though, I'll take anything that works well, that brings 2ts back to use, and that expands their use to many other ICE using modes of transport.
