• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

As much as I am not wild over the KTM/Berg thing...

They have 36 Nm (27ftlbs)of torque. That's almost as much as a stock te449, but in a 94kg package. Just sayin...

..it amazes me how almost everyone here less than a short year ago were so against this take over from SP....and now look, you or someone else has talked yourselves into looking forward to Husky's sharing most things ktm...this may begin a rash of criticism at me but no worries...I just won't cave in to ktm/sp owning them...and after my last ride ,I unfortunately had to listen to more Husky bashing from several ktm owners.... I will NOT be jumping on this bandwagon ...you do what makes you happy guys/gals....And as for the dude that had his frame crack on his "kaboom" on my recent outing ,all I can say is 'Shoulda bought a Husky' (you have no idea how bad I wanted to say that in the company of all his ktm buddies)

Haha you should of told him He should of bought a Husky. You won't get a rash of criticism from my corner. Coming from a huge family of KTM racers, I get poked, prodded and teased all the time being the only one sitting on a Husky. Always getting asked to race, until recently, they don't ask anymore.:excuseme: I ride what I like. Today it's a 511, tomorrow it may be a te300 or fe501. :D

Rode with a good buddy of mine Friday, he rode my 165 and fell deeply in love. I sent him a CL ad today with a really nice CR125 for sale, he picks it up this afternoon. :D Its simply a fantastic platform.

I'm still not happy about it and HATE the fact that my favorite bike ever, the CR125 is going away as I know it. Thats why my title is what it is. That said I heard some good news today about the new huskys coming and some stuff sounded very good. Time and a ride on one will tell if it is enough to get me off my 04 at some point. :D

If you love your 2004 CR 125 which still works well for a 10 year old bike Then get a 2014 Husky CR125
ride it for another 10 years along with your current 2004 bike. who knows what will happen in the next 10 years and who really cares Because you are set on a well running bike Start to worrie in 10 years

No need to my 04 is decked out how I like it. I trade off with 09 and newer bikes all the time and like my 04 just as much, in some ways more. Any 10 year old and newer 2 stroke can be made into a competitive bike IMHO. I have about $3000 in my bike, 165 kit, SC seat, suspension done (and very well I might add). It is far better than a new 2014 for me as it is all done and setup. Not interested at this point in spending 6K on a bike and another 2K to get it to work as well as my current bike. I would like to but it is not going to happen and not necessary. Lets just say I love my bike how it is and will just ride the wheels off it til there are no spare parts left. Every time I swap with someone even on brand new bikes i realize how good for me the bike I already have is regardless of year.

So why didn't you? You certainly don't hold back here.

...Cuz this was a HUSKY forum that is slowly but surely turning orange...you love ktm's,go to ktmtalk..by the way I WILL be sure to rant to ktm riders from now own-that make you feel any better..I always thought Husky enthusiasts stuck together and this was a place to feel wanted..still is,but except the growing few who are hell bent on turning it into something it was not originally intended...sorry Coffee, this is not at all intended to lay blame on any one person ,this is still the best Husky forum, I'm just noticing the wrecking ball that tore down T/T .....

I was just on the HMNA website, and there sure are a lot of 2014 model bikes that look like 2012 and 2013 model bikes. In fact, the WR's look a lot like 2004 bikes...

You mean the bikes that were supposed to be MY14's that are 110th anniversary that they got into trouble with and now have to call them MY14 bikes?

We are getting KTM / Bergs, they bought it, its done. So this ether evolves into a new husky (KTM/BERG influenced) AND older versions (now being Italian influenced) just like the Swedish versions are her as well or it becomes a vintage site. We can have all no? Swedish, Italian, German, now Austrian. Or am I reading what you are saying wrong?
