• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Fantastic simple hammer of a bike that splits dirt and street better than about any bike made. As a street bike the 690 is better, as a off road bike far worse. The 690 is also way newer and cost 2x as much. Also WAY more complex and much harder to work on. Some people like a lighter, simpler do it all package and thats the 610.
looks like I bought the wrong bike again?????????? that's two new bikes I bought wrongly in two weeks?????? should I go for three?

first report......ktm 690.......just on it for two minutes.....I think the te511 will be a better gravel road bike.........and the ktm a better all around road bike..........no suprise thier........maybe ive been harsh on the te511.......its a good dirt bike.....what gets me upset is them selling it to people with them thinking its road worthy........its not over 55 mph , road worthy

not even in the same ball park as the ktm

Husqvarna Terra

This new addition to the dual-sport segment is an appealing option, whatever surface you envision yourself enjoying. What’s most appealing is it’s positioning: The Terra balances near the center of the road vs. dirt scale, and should prove very responsive to modifications. With better tires and some suspension work, the Terra could be an outstanding all-terrain weapon.

KTM 690 Enduro R

Big surprise: The KTM falls behind on the freeway. Not for lack of power—the 690 is the most powerful bike here with 48.9 bhp at 7100 rpm—but because anything above 65 mph makes holding the Enduro’s grips feel like you’re grasping a pair of palm sanders. There’s no wind protection for your torso, and since it’s so light, tall, and rolling on knobbies, the KTM sways and shimmies as it sails down the road. It’s actually amusing—for the guy following you.

AND... It's not even a KTM. It's built in India by Bajaj. I think you better talk with the good people here ... http://www.ktmtalk.com/ ...to get a few things ironed out before you throw a brick through your dealers window (or more appropriately take the police down there)

I OWN A KTM ENDURO SIX NINTY NOW....I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH THE SHAKING.......TOTALLY.....THAT THING HAD A PLUSH RIDE....TOTALLY PLUSH......I DO SAY THOUGH THAT AT SIXTY EIGHT MILES PER HOUR IT FELT TAXED.....IM GUESSSING NEW PIPE WOULD GIVE ME FIVE MORE? TO BE BLUNT........I LOOKED AT THE TERRA. ........I FELT IT WAS NOT EVEN IN THE SAME BALLPARK AS THE KTM........BUT IF A PERSON WAS SHORT IN HEIGHT IT MIGHT BE A GOOD BIKE.......OTHER THAN THAT.........NOT EVEN IN SAME BALLPARK.............TERRA IS FINISHED INA MONTH OR TWO....BUT THE SIX NINETY WILL ALWAYS BE AROUND.......THAT ALONE TELLS U SOMETHING......I DONT WANT TO GET INTO PISSIN MATCH ABOUT THIS......I HAVENT RIDDEN TERRA. BUT IT LOOKED CHEAP COMPARED TO KTM. WHO CARES WHERE IT IS BUILT?????????????IF YOU TURN A GERMAN SCREW IN GERMANY OR TURN A GERMAN SCREW IN INDIA? WHO CARES
