• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

looks like I bought the wrong bike again?????????? that's two new bikes I bought wrongly in two weeks?????? should I go for three?
actually the ktm 690 is a couple of pounds lighter than the old te.......although the old te seems to have gruntier power.........the ktm seems tamer . smoother...........the te more raw

I OWN A KTM ENDURO SIX NINTY NOW....I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH THE SHAKING.......TOTALLY.....THAT THING HAD A PLUSH RIDE....TOTALLY PLUSH......I DO SAY THOUGH THAT AT SIXTY EIGHT MILES PER HOUR IT FELT TAXED.....IM GUESSSING NEW PIPE WOULD GIVE ME FIVE MORE? TO BE BLUNT........I LOOKED AT THE TERRA. ........I FELT IT WAS NOT EVEN IN THE SAME BALLPARK AS THE KTM........BUT IF A PERSON WAS SHORT IN HEIGHT IT MIGHT BE A GOOD BIKE.......OTHER THAN THAT.........NOT EVEN IN SAME BALLPARK.............TERRA IS FINISHED INA MONTH OR TWO....BUT THE SIX NINETY WILL ALWAYS BE AROUND.......THAT ALONE TELLS U SOMETHING......I DONT WANT TO GET INTO PISSIN MATCH ABOUT THIS......I HAVENT RIDDEN TERRA. BUT IT LOOKED CHEAP COMPARED TO KTM. WHO CARES WHERE IT IS BUILT?????????????IF YOU TURN A GERMAN SCREW IN GERMANY OR TURN A GERMAN SCREW IN INDIA? WHO CARES

Dude, let me give it to you straight, you are all over the place. you need to decide what you want to do. If top speeds on gavel roads are your goal you should have got the terra and used the wasted money on the KTM and upgraded the suspension and got the PC5-Autotune and some mufflers and smoked the KTM down every gravel road. It is a great bike, big power and tall geared, all things you seem to be chasing. Actually the TE610 you already have is probably the fastest of the three down gravel geared right. Those used to so 100 plus at desert racing, it is a formidable machine with a heritage of winning. Do some research before you go get the next undergeared bike and complain. And please man, take a second to type some readable text.

I am not here to piss with people. im here to try to become educated. when I was on board when I wanted the te511, you were quite friendly to me, now that I know its a dirt bike......you seem to be cold to me? whys that. I think u might be right about the te610 . I took it out yesterday compared it to the ktm.............610 seems raw. and peppy...........the ktm seems plush,,,,,,,more comfy..........listen, im 52, I don't go over jumps..........I wanted to get a new bike.....FAIR ENUF?????????? im not living forever. and I wanted a new toy.......I feel I told my dealer what I was using the bike for and he still sold me the te511, (lining pockets?) I think you might not be objective? I might be all over the place..........fair enuf..........but I have the intent of objective thought.......something im noticing lacking in some here............I could care less the brand of bike, or where it is made......I want what functions for me the best . im glad I bought the new ktm........its tall. seat is comfy. seems to track down dirt easily.........my only complaint with ktm is the top end speed on road.........someone has told me I can get some more of that with tweaks.......thanks for your opinion.........I do complain about the new te511. because its obvious the manufacturer had no intent on that bike being used on highways..........yet I told my dealer I was doing alot of that and they didn't say one word about how that bike might not be appropriate for me.......now im stuck with it.....don't get me wrong its a good dirt bike..........but I had no intent in buying a dirt bike.......is it fair to complain about dealers whose only goal is to get money into pocket instead of helping those who don't understand the ins and outs of motorbikes, into the appropriate bike?????? it might be starting to become clear to a few , that the objective thought thinkers are most respected here in the end......enuf pissing for today........

I realize im alone here. and you get all the likes. and such..im not here to seek freinds or back up...........im here to seek the truth, and along the way, it gets messy.........what I know for sure is that husky did not produce the te511 as a road bike whatsoever. yet their are many dealers promoting the bike as such. my Minnesota dealer told me he had a customer who rode that bike from Minnesota to texas............on road (not sure if he specified highway/interstate or what). I straight up told him I didn't believe him........shortly thereafter I bought a new bike from him...........he refused to do warranty work on my bike I bought from him. hows that for husky service after the sale? now I sit in iowa with no dealer support not really knowing about bikes. and no help at all.........yes that's complaining........at some point maybe husky corporate should have stepped in and made this disagreement right.....if I get kicked off café husky for stating what I feel is fair content , so be it.........forums to me are for stating opinion and fact as long as its fair and truthful, not just business........its obvious to me I was banned from café husky for a period of time because I was so mad about the te511 debacle........now for some reason ive been let back on............I made an error buying that te511, I feel its the dealers duty to help buyers into the correct bike..........so that this problem dosent happen. I think their are many dealers who could care less what bike you buy , as long as you have cash in hand.........im not upset I bought the ktm , as I told dealer what I used the bike for and it performs in those perameters in a reasonable way..............the te511, does not do that..........when I took it on the interstate , it was literally dangerous the way it shimmyed at high speed.........AGAIN, OBJECTIVE HONEST TRUTH FROM SOMEONE WHO DOSENT KNOW MUCH ABOUT MOTORBIKEING.........OR CORRECT WORD STRUCTURE OR CAPS OR SPELLING..........

dear motosportz let me give it you you straight. (which i do all the time anyway, just using your terminology here).......Im 52, I don't want a cheap bike under my legs.......the terra is cheaply made, and heavy as sin.........is that straight up enuf for you?

Your typing in all caps, you have been asked not to. You use......... between everything, your posts ramble on about the same thing and are a absolute mess. Your time here is limited as you repeatedly disregard requests to clean it up my mods. You will cry saying you were banned because of you honesty.

mods you might look into his IP, I starting to think this is all a game by someone else.

dear mods and ip......(whatever an ip is)......I am an individual who wanted to update his te610 from 2006 to a new dual sport...........to me a dual sport means dual. that it does both reasonably...I told my dealer how I would be using the bike and told them I wanted the te511 or 449 for that purpose.......the dealer told me great! its great for that.........(in reality the new 511 wasn't designed for that purpose).. I am being honest.......that is why im here to become educated , on what to do.......I will accept now that im stuck with the 511.........and im doing the best i can to figure out how to change the oil via the red stick thing..........it would be nice if somebody would print off the two pages of the oil change instructions so I can read it........dear mods. motosportz is questioning my intent here......what is his intent? this is no game. im a guy who was a loyal husky customer.......who I feel got led astray by a dealer......now im doing the best I can to try to make the error work for me........if thier is a game here.......its by people promoting dirt bikes as street bikes.
