• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

That bike looks sick! I'm not sure if I love or hate the Chiquita Banana shark though

I like it!

Not something you see every day on a Husky, that's for sure!

Not only do I like your bike (just love that yellow/blue color scheme…), but you can tell your sponsors that I’ll do my best to buy more Chiquita Bananas for their support of a Husky :applause: -->:banana::banana:
That’s a very nice transformation; it looks like you’re running dual exhaust?
Put some more pics will ya’, the bike looks good

thanx for support me!

I have only pics of early version...

You can see it here:

http://www.husqvarna-italia.com/forum/viewthread.php?forum_id=32&thread_id=4652

and the "story" of my bike there:

http://www.husqvarna-italia.com/forum/viewthread.php?forum_id=32&thread_id=46

originally was a '99 stock 610sms, but I have changed and modified too much to remember all....

In order of time there is the removal of weight under the flywheel.

I have a twin exhaust, of course, hand made.

Greetings From Los Angeles

Hi Everybody.

I'm the proud new owner of a 2008 610. I figure this is a good thread for my first post on the forum.

I bought the bike with 126 miles on it (how is that even possible?)
I've had it two days, and it has 400 on it now.

If you're in SoCal hit me up and we'll go for a ride or grab a beer.

I'm going back to lurk on the board a while. I have LOTs of noobilisious questions.

Nice photos. How did you manage to snag a 610 that hasn't even been broken in yet?
There are quite a few of us in SoCal. Stay tuned plenty of opportunities for quick week end rides.

Yeah, Like I said I don't get it.:excuseme: I put 150 on it the first day. I dunno how you have a bike for 6-8 months and put 126 on it.

In one respect it does sort of suck though cuz he ran out the warranty without giving it a chance to break.

6000klms, 15 days

6000klms, 15 days. Not one failure, not one breakage. Not even a missing bolt. TE610 2006. How overlooked and underrated these things are..!!:applause:
Went through some of the remotest parts of Australia. It had to be reliable. At one place, fuel was $2.00 a liter and water was $4.50 a liter...

Wow, I thought mine required a bit of a kung fu maneuver to get on and off but you got me beat.:notworthy:
Yes you're right about the 610 being one of the most underrated bikes around, it really can tackle virtually any kind of terrain and do it better than most anything in it's class.

Gudday!!

Happy to share some pics.. I'm writing a ride report so will share the link. I'm thinking about doing a what mods were done and what worked/didn't work post.... Like I sure wish I had fitted a steering damper!!

Old abandoned mine. That I grew up at as a kid. Weird feeling. It's a ghost town now on the edge of the Simpson desert.

While coming up on, and not long ago passing the half century mark, I can now see the day coming when the really tight, nasty, rock infested, Idaho single track I'm used to, just will not be that much fun to me anymore.
(there are rides, not sure how much 'fun' it is now.....I don't recover quite as quick as I used to)

Some of these threads lately are really giving me the TE610, adventure bug.

I hear ya...

I have what I consider to be a perfect bike garage... WR360 for the gnarly single track and TE610 for the big trips. Sure they are not the newest and greatest, but I own them, know them inside out and have two bikes that I will continue to farkle and customise for a long long time. I can fix and service everything on them.

You can't buy the 360 anymore, but the wr250 has to be the all time woods weapon. The 610?? As soon as RV aqualine make a big Safari tank for the FI 610 with 50mm 'Zooks... Go buy one. The IMS is junk. Me, I'm waiting for some 50mm Zooks to come up on fleabay. Heaps cheaper than a new bike. Plus I suspect that my carbed 2006 goes harder... And the fuel pump etc is not going to throw up it's hands in the middle of nowhere...
