• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

You're right...........kinda reminds me of my 1200GSA. :D

What type of bags are those and where did you get them?
Actually its pretty sweet.

I ordered them from Nelson Riggs, they have a good selection of soft luggage. The rack isn't complete yet, I still have to build the lower supports that will attach to the buddy peg mounts.
I made everything so that it is quick change, I can re-outfit back to full dirt trim with the TE wheels and factory trail rack in about 1/2 hr. even the windshield is a snap on attachment:thumbsup:

Thanks Kelly. It really is a blast to zip through the foothills and mt. passes. The addition of the windshield actually make it pretty comfy on the hwy. I still have a little work to do on some supports but it's almost there.
So far as never seeing dirt again, well I did make everything so that I can change back in a heartbeat.:D

The windscreen is a after market (zero gravity), for the Buell Ulysses. Its about 3.5" taller than the factory Buell, they are about $100.00. I think it looks pretty good on the bike and it really helps a bunch when you're cruising at 70+.

Did the upper handle bar clamp come with the hand guards? If not what am I looking at, its not stock.

I think what you are looking at is the Motosportz steering damper,

WOW, thats a cool part

Not if you would loose the stock computer and put on a MUCH better trailtech unit you could 86 the wrist watch.

I put the wrist watch on for a timed course that I was doing about a year ago and never took it off. Yes the stock computer sucks, it has more bells and whistles that you don't need and can't switch between screens on the fly.
Trail tech might be on my to do list if I can figure out a good alternative for the signal indicators.

No it's the HDB hand guards top clamp. I found them on the web after posing the question. Thanks for the input though.

Well I'm glad you found what you are after but I don't have any HDB equipment on my bike. The upper handlebar mount/clamp is the adapter for the Motosportz Damper.

Raj he was actually talking to the guy in front of you, you know; post # 155

I like your cruiser :D
I was eyeing those side panniers, it might not be functional for you but on my bike I would put them a bit more forward to follow more closely in the bike lines

Ah, now it makes perfect sense.

Yes you are right moving the saddle bags further forward would follow the lines more closely but unfortunately form is going to have to follow function in this case, I need the extra seat room for a passenger.

Thanks I try her in good shape. She has most of the normal brush and boulder rash that everyone else has but a little bit of lemon pledge just before you bring out the camera does wonders.:D
Oh yeah and finding a case paint that matches helps cover the rub marks from the boots.

"Oh yeah and finding a case paint that matches helps cover the rub marks from the boots".

Duplicolor WP102 graphite Wheel Coating? I have used it and is pretty close.

What I use is Duplicolor graphite grey metalic #8800928. It doesn't speciffically say wheel coating but it's likey the same thing or at least the same color mix. It's almost indistinguishable from the factory paint.
I originally thought the side cases were anodized and found out I was wrong when I was cleaning them with brake clean.:banghead:
