• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Pics of your 610!

Did a ride up in the Sierra last month...still haven't gotten to a ride report yet but I'm working on it...

Hey woodschick, what do you do for protection your saddlebags from your exhaust?
Are those MT60'on the front, used to seeing you with knobbies on the 610.

I took a piece of 1/4" commercial grade rubber (used for slip joints) and cut 2 little squares out of it. Glued those together, then super-glued them to the carbon fiber pipe bracket right where the rubber nub on the backside of the side numberplate hits it. It keeps it just far enough away from the pipe to keep everything cool. Works like a charm and is not noticeable when the bags are not on the bike.

Do you and Eric ever swap bikes just for fun? Just curious if there's much difference between the two aside from color. I sold my 610 a few days ago. It had
just been sitting in my garage collecting dust ever since I got my 511. I was sad to see it go, it is a great bike.

No, we never switch bikes because Eric's TE is waaay too tall for me. I could pull it off if it were a lightweight dirt bike but the TE is too manly:)Eric says the TE is easier to wheelie because the front end is much lighter.

My one 610 te now has 30,000 km on and the cam chain is at 9 clicks changing it due to a bearing on the rocker that is going --noisy -- also making a lot of carbon parts for her as well as Madonna that is DSCN1587.JPG now in the house as i need the space in my workshop --Here she is --just removed the one panel to make sure she is there  Soon i will take her out --but till then i will just drool over her hehe

I know I’ve posted these two before but you know what?, I don’t care, I like them too much and I don’t have new ones at the moment…
So here you go.................Hi there...I have the same model as you have....fun bike....just done a oil change and have metal shavings...this is obviously not a good sign....have you had similar trouble??? Am thinking of taking bike across outback Australia...dont need engine dramas....

A new bike in reserve is just not fair! Man, that is thinking ahead; they don't make 'em like that anymore. The real cheat though is that any farkles just transfer right over.

Hey there Auntytart
This is just a picture thread, no reason to get into all this in here
What you need to do is start a new thread in the 610/630 section and ask your question there, if you have pictures of the metal shavings it's even better
I'm sure we'll be able to help you there

The weather is starting to cool off a little here and we've had just a beautiful weekend, found a nice little road out in the country and it dead ended at this spot here. Also just installed a super loud horn where the smog canister used to be.

A Stebel Nautilus compact by any chance? Best bike horn outbthere IMHO.

A Stebel Nautilus compact by any chance? Best bike horn outbthere UMHO.

Yeah! That's exactly what it is. Sounds like a train horn and I was even able to reuse the actual smog canister's little braket. Took all of about 10 minutes to do. I even got to use it the other day when a lady on her phone began to drift into my lane. Earned her a nice deep "BRRAAAAAAA". Woke her right up. :D

Also, has anyone had a problem with their neutral light flashing on a FI bike? I know it means there's a problem with the fuel injection system, but could this be a direct result of adding an uptite slip-on, O2 sensor plug, and opening up the airbox cover? I know adding a performance chip to a car will result in a check engine light. I've also had my instrument display fail twice and now a third time, but it started working again recently. The husqvarna rep. is sending my dealer a new wiring harness for the bike as well as a new display regardless(after about a month or so of waiting), could this also be a result of this electrical issue? Thanks to whoever may be able to help with this, and I apologize for such a long winded question. Or rather series of questions.
