As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Cigar Mike's center stand, Jardine silencer, with adapter pipe, all from Bill's Husky in Salem, OR. 503-585-1153Please tell us about that center stand and the exhaust you have on your new bike!!
Where do I find Cigar Mike? I want one of those stands...
How much do those center stands go for??![]()
The 630 frame is identical, with the mounting tabs and spring hook too.
I think the question was length.
Yes, a handy accessory.
From all the complaints about husky side stands the new one is improved but the bike still leans over too much with it.
Does anyone make a big foot print/large side stand plate for the factory side stand?
Wot´s wrong with the centre stand designed for and sold by Husky? It´still in the parts list, so must be available from all registered dealers.
All the later 610's had tubular steel side stands, and they are crap...I bought a 511 stand from a member here. I'm trimming it to length (it's
BTW - I've seen a 610 with a tubular steel sidestand. Must be aftermarket...wonder where it came from.
I didn't know that. I would figure steel would be stronger than aluminum...but you still need to make it properly. All the later 610's had tubular steel side stands, and they are crap...
Yeah the new aluminum ones are nice and pretty dang strong. The steel ones had a tiny footprint and were spindly and prone to bending.I didn't know that. I would figure steel would be stronger than aluminum...but you still need to make it properly.
