  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your 4 stroke bikes!

New Black Fork Legs

Les @ LTR :notworthy:dialed in my forks once again.... I went for black this time - special thanks to Coastline Metal Finishing in the OC for a great Hardcoat Black anodize:

Well... it all started as a simple "renew suspension bearings and repack the exhaust" and has ended up as a nut and bolt chassis workover!

The workshop's full so the old girl's been relegated to a dusty barn. Believe it or not she was in even more bits yesterday. The suspension's been sent away (to Chris Hockey at Endurotech) for revalving and springing. Can't wait to get her back together.

I've ordered a Clarke 3.7gal natural, a black seat cover and all white plastics. Thinking of getting a Rigid 4" Led Bar for a headlight, Cycra handguards, and Fast by Ferracci graphics. Maybe DIY powdercoat the rims black.

meh, I hate black rims. they look good when new, but they look so shitty after a season of riding and spooning tires on and off.

It looks a bit more like a bike now. Can't do a lot more 'til the suspension arrives (apart from maybe tidy the barn a little and order a new rear tyre)...

The stock triple clamp pinch bolts are a tad short with the road gear fitted so I spent an obscene amount of money on some 5mm longer Probolt jobs. Aprillia list an M8*45 flanged bolt for cheaper but the bling won out. All the stainless flanged bolts I found on Fleabay etc. were 13mm A/F and that's just plain unlucky...

Everything seemed to be OK until the tank's thread on the right side of the bike was cross-threaded from the factory, just need to re-tap it I guess... plus I lost a little washer.

I like pics.... we should all post more.... Heres me and the boys in Jim Thrope PA
It's a shame these guy's had to ride whatever these other motorcycles are (if you will)

Congrats!

I think I need graphics.

I definitely need fans... and some protection. Boiled over after dropping 'er three times going up a hill. Hey, my buddies Can-am 650 had a hard time (well, not really, lol) I just need to get more comfortable with the speed it takes to hill climb on this beast.

Bryza -

Great pictures! I was so jealous looking at both bikes until I remembered I own one too! Keep them coming chap!
