  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your 4 stroke bikes!

Speaking of which, when are we going riding again?

Good question!!!

Didn't we talk about you arranging something in the Sierras? :)

Nice lookin Zook woodschick. There's something wrong with those pics though, I just can't place it. Ohhhh there it is, who the heck put all those trees on a street course. :busted: You're and animal woodschick!

I need to get some new photos, which means I need to get out and go to some places that are worthy of photographing.

Set up for dirt.

Look'n Gooood.

The more 610's I see, the more I want one...

Anyway, I'm gonna lower the tone with the last picture I took before my camera broke. This was after a pretty hard workout in the woods next to the farm (There's an old silver mine there so I can let the bike gallop on the spoil heaps in between dodging trees). There's a bit of earth but no mud on the bike, which has been pretty rare in the UK this year. If the recent weather keeps up I'll be fitting pontoons and a paddle to it.

I'll second that. I wouldn't ride that bike there on a bet.

 You guys are funny. I'm an animal, alright...sometimes just a scaredycat but most of the time I'm the tortoise...never the hare!

The location of the photos is the Bald Mt OHV Trail in the Sierra NF.
It's just a huge granite dome with an abandoned fire lookout on top...really a stunning place  I know it's off topic here, but in the interest of info sharing, I'm going to post a few photos of the view from there :D Please don't tell the mods :busted:

WTF Woodschick? I know people take dirt bikes, put the motards on and ride them on the road, but your taking it to a whole new level taking the road bike to the dirt. Nice work haha.

Speaking of motards, Picked these up for a Steal, found them on Ebay, starting bid was $1300 with a buy now of $1900. Ended up keeping my eye on them, and ended up winning them for $1300. Includes tyres, wider triple clamps, axles, spacers and brakes.
So prob round the $1100 USD. Im fkn stoked.

So far, powerup kit, bolts locktite, steering stabilizer and carbon canister delete. I cannot believe how much power this bike has. I came off an 06 Suzuki RMZ 450. It's for sale. I'm in San Diego area...always looking for people to ride with...I'm slow.

Where were those pictures taken, north of Ramona maybe?

All the gates up there are locked now...I've been up there 2 x on the Husky and 1 x on my BMW GS. It's a snap on the Husky, much tougher on the big bike. I take it you're from San Diego...that or a psychic.
