  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your 4 stroke bikes!

I must be the only guy who hasnt had problems with the fuel cap....the alloy one's are flashy, but I aint buying one until I need it.

Got the CRF450 titanium slip-on just about done. Need to re-weld a midpipe mount tab as I had ground it off in order to rotate the stock midpipe to a different angle. Otherwise, titanium midpipe slid over stock midpipe like a dream. Had to trim both mid pipes. Gonna slit the sides of the Vance&Hines midpipe and purchase another stock exhaust clamp and I'll be golden. I like how it has a really upswept style like some of the euro streetfighter bikes I've seen. I thought maybe I left in too much midpipe but after looking at other brand slipons intended for the TE, I think the length is just fine. Now I need a damn JD tuner in order to make it run right. Also, took the hideous stock heat shield from the old pipe and trimmed it down to fit over the rear portion of the midpipe.
I will most likely trim down the rear fender to clean it up a bit and wanted this pipe to blow heat over the turn signals, not onto them like my buddy's slipon does on his 511 SMR.
The pipe doesnt quite tuck in as nice as the ones made for this bike but please understand Ladds, I got this pipe for a stupid low price.

I'm diggin the High-Mount pipe. Even the decal matches! Not sure of the legality issues with where you're at, but you can unbolt the long black rear fender from inside the tail and take that whole assembly off for a cleaner, tighter look. Let me know if you need pics. Also what sprocket combo are you running? I'm gonna be swapping to Supermoto when summer comes around down here. Thanks!

Hall's sells for 67 bucks. Bill's probably has in stock too.
Yes, Bill's has them in stock and I will get one if I ever need one....but so far neither the 511 nor the 449 has a problem. Maybe up north it never gets warm enough to warp the thing :-)

I've been told our "lovely" california fuel (90% ethanol-10% muddy water) is causing the plastic to deform faster than other states. I agree though, don't fix what ain't broken..yet Mine was starting to look like a cowboy hat and got tired from my riding buddies waiting for me at gas stations -- Actually "they" were getting tired of me..

Cooler temps on the plastic or you got really good molds. I have the plastic one in for now, but it doesn't thread easily. I will have the alloy one soon.

I would like pics please! I got a 44 tooth rear but front is stock. I already have a 42 and 43 to swap if the bike screams with the 44t on. Anybody know if I can swap the warp9 front disc with an upgraded disc intended for a husky such as braking or ebc?

Page 70, 12th post down is finished product (I can take a closer pic if you need). the 2011s with the multi-piece fender are cake, but the 12s and 13s are little more involved. I'll list the quick steps-
-remove seat, front/side panels (not a must but easier)
-unbolt muffler and pull away from bike a little
-remove tailight- unplug turn signals
-remove both rear fender sides
-this will expose the 2 8mm head bolts that attach both black pieces to the subframe
-remove bolts and the whole license plate/turn signal assembly will slide down off the remaining black tail piece.
-you'll need washers or non-shouldered bolts to go back into the subframe as the remaining piece will fit loose when bolts are tightened
-from there just re-install all the stuff you removed and buy some flush mount indicators and (not req'd) fab up a license plate mount. The tailight will light up the plate as well. Some people just drill holes right through the're plate and attach it but I used an existing plate mount off of another bike and attached that for a cleaner look. Hope these don't confuse you:o

My new 2012 TE250, just got it and went "urban" exploring hahaha will go for trails this weekend.

Looks like I've got my tubeless wheels sorted out, so took it for a quick spin to make sure it held together (will check pressures again tomorrow to be sure), decided to take the SLR along and take some photos. Bring on the track day on Sunday!

Colo moto, is that a Honda fender? how was the fit? does the red match fairly well?

Yes that is a honda fender I had laying around from my last honda. The red doesn't match very closely actually. The honda is a brighter/neon red if you will and the Husky red more of a deeper true red. You will have to drill 2 new holes to mount it, and there is a good size gap under the front number plate. Overall it doesn't fit or match very well. I would only recommend if you happen to have a spare honda fender like I did.
