  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your 4 stroke bikes!

That my friend, is a sweet bike and awesome pic.
Did you do the "tubeless for under $10" from SMJ?

Yeah, I did a write up the other day (I'm brembo on there), did my stock rear last July and finally got around to doing the other wheels.

That looks awesome Caiman! What wheels are you running?

Stock front SMR rim, and 5" Excel rear on OEM hub/spokes. Goldpseed Ultra Street tyres went on last week.

Looks like I've got my tubeless wheels sorted out, so took it for a quick spin to make sure it held together (will check pressures again tomorrow to be sure), decided to take the SLR along and take some photos. Bring on the track day on Sunday!

Nice bit of kit there Caiman! Love the strategically placed camera mounts ;) and the Ohlins is very tasty. Just wondered, been trying to search online but to no avail :( where can I get hold of a similar exhaust guard for the 'powerbomb' part of the header, as I've just melted my trouser leg on mine!

It's a P3 exhaust guard for the stock TE/SMR pipe cut up into a few pieces. I'm 6'5"so whenever I stop at a set of lights my leg leans right on the power bomb, the exhaust guard...

Here's a better photo.

Thanks! Yeah, it happens at the lights for me too :(

Another fun day at the track, a tiny bit of spitting rain but the weather held out all day. Did well and improved my times by a further 4-5s a lap, even after breaking my toe after dropping my bike on mt foot in the pits before even getting on the bike lol

Only another 7-8s a lap to go to catch the faster of my mates!
