• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your vintage Husqvarna bikes!

I have owned a 94 wxc and loved it for numerous years. my oldest son is now riding it so i was forced to buy another bike. I found this 86 cross country 400. the jug is a 430 and i'm told it has a 500 piston in it. I have researched but not found much info on the 400 especially the cross country. I got a title and an 87 430 cc running parts bike with the deal. I'm told the bike was raced out of Sportsman Cycles here in vegas back in the day. The title is from Nevada and I sure got boxes of parts.View attachment 16776
The bike can have a 500 piston in it as the 430 and 500 has the same exact bore. The only difference in the 500 is the crank pin offset and 5mm longer rod giving it a total of 10mm more stroke. But yes, you can very well indeed have a 500 piston in it, but it's not giving you added power as the two jugs have the same bore.

what bike did your forks come from?
Technically they didn't "come" from any bike. Back when my father used to race this in Double A Hare scrambles he purchased the entire WP 4054 front end as component pieces including the triple clamps from billet (Now Billet Racing Products). Total price back then was around $1500-2000 if I'm not mistaken.

The forks where also used on later husky MX models but did not come with the billet triple clamps.

KTM also used the WP 4054 forks on there early '90s 125 MX models.

There are some beautiful bikes and stories in this section. Late last year I purchased this 74 400 CR and have began to run some Vintage races lately. First time back racing since 1980 have a great time. Just a rider but I have had fun getting it back where it was built to be. My avatar is in 74 on the a 400CR. The last picture was taken 7/22/12.

Hey guys,
Just picked this up today: 1973 450wr. It is the most complete of 70's vintage bikes that I have. Just needs some carb work and it will run. I will be a good model to help me assemble a couple other of the vintage bikes I have.
I plan to get it street registered. Not to commute with, but to take part in some dual sport rides.
