• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your vintage Husqvarna bikes!

Where did you get the Team Husky sticker on the rear fender?

Would love to hear more about your restoration... it looks immaculate!

Amazing in fact... Would like to encourage you to post up detailing your bike and the resto with information on how you did it all!

One question though that I just have to ask.... why did you go with the new style grips? Do you like the feel of them?

I'm giving you some rep points for this one...

You Aussie's are starting to make us Yanks look bad with this quality of a restoration..........

Thanks, T

Picklito,

Those are Renthal "Jimmy Button" bend bars.

If I get some free time this Fall we should organize a local "Old Husky" ride at one of the OHV parks. (or maybe just Vintage in general?)

I vote for "air cooled weekend" at Georgetown or Stonyford!!

Were you involved with the factory? Did you work for them?

Hello Dean
No i was not involved with the factory or worked there.

But we went there today, 3 vintage crossbikes (1 Maico 400-69, Josegull (junior member) HVA 400 -71, and me on the 450 -72 on picture. The track is today a crosstrack open for public.

Best regards from Torbjörn

But many famous Husqvarna factory riders must have tested new setups on this track.

My 250 CR -69

Here are picture of my first vintage husky.
As you can se the bike isn´t 100 % original.
I have talked with all the previus owners since 1972, unfortunately not the first owner who was the only one to race with the bike...

The first owner must have done som mods on the bike, replaced the stock engine with a very rare 1964 engine(no:64123), Akront liprims,
-70 fueltank, -72 handlebar and a very nice volume increase of the exhaustpipe.

I have restored the bike with new paint, fenders, screws, seat cover, cables and totally rebuild engine and much more.....

Modifications since the picture was taken:
Magura trapdoor throttle.
New numberplates.
Mudflap on front fender:thumbsup:

That was all...
The 400-69 to come.:)
