• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your vintage Husqvarna bikes!

Several things you MUST do is make a spring cover, so when they break and they will break they stay where they belong and don trash the covers and bearings, use the right oil and change it every time you ride, then you have half a chance

yep Stormer, I hear ya......I'd already got most of that from the threads so far. So maybe with this knowledge in advance, I might turn out to be a better auto pilot (ha ha funny, I work for British Airways.....not as a pilot though...)

Don't stress, the bikes are an absolute blast but require that methodical approach to sorting the issues. have you looked at speedyauto's threads? he had Paul do a heap on his auto (he dropped a 430 auto into a late model 05 I think) have a look back through the vintage restorations or PM him he knows the guff

Thanks surprize, I'm just itchin' to get out there on it. Do miss the wide open spaces of Aus though, you got it made really :-) I grew up riding around Mt Cootha in Brisbane then ventured west to Goondiwindi, St. George and Roma where you could scream down endless dirt roads, literally for days. Living in UK now and that just doesn't exist here......the nearest equivalent, 'Green Laning' is very much under threat of extinction due to noise, erosion etc.

When I eventually return home it will be with the 500AE to get it into the outback where it belongs :-))

The secret to any auto resto is to first fix the firkin brakes**************************************** Then you can start on anything else you like...:D

I'm a bit confused, you can do what you want, but the intent of this thread is to show peoples actual bikes. The title of the thread is: "

". See the word 'your'? As opposed to pictures of bikes on ebay?

It's not a huge deal, but maybe start a new thread called 'cool ebay bike pictures'?

The bike and I are on the extreme S.W. coast of Ireland. We're on the Atlantic. The next land you come to is the States. I'm 67, do you think that's a little old for this stuff ? Nahhhhhhhh !!

That would be good. I was thinking doing that from this point forward, but it appears that someone is deleting a lot of posts?

I just meant a separate thread for the ebay pictures, I don't see any reason to delete posts already in this thread.
