As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Well it's a SMS vs a "TE" so the front brake resevoir will be smaller and aluminum on the SWM.
Tell me the SWM will actually come with those Pilot Powers instead of the horrible Diablos that came on the 630's
Let us know when you can get a good apples-to-apples comparison.
The radiators are different. And the horn is located in front of the right hand side radiator.
Anyway I would be interested in the engine mapping... and maybe the clutch?

Oh so I'm not the only one who hates them.
A month with no news. Surely someone's ridden one of these by now?

Hello Mr. Dave ,thanks for your communication and interest for our Company and Product.SWM Motorcycles is a new company and the motorcycles for the USA market will be ready for end of year 2016 , before is not possible for the USA registration test.
Thanks,
SWM Motorcycles
They will not be in the USA until late 2016
Well it is still 2016..... A year later than Europe though.
At least there is some clarity!
I thought I read somewhere that they are using the old Husky factory that BMW retooled recently, but I cannot find that info.
Maybe some one will do a larger tank for the SWM we can use on the TE630 ?
18 - 20 litres would be plenty I feel, please ?
Cheers John
Possibly.... *cough* EICMA *cough*... :P
The SWM appears to be near identical to the TE630 so if it gets distributed widely I suspect the accessory mill will slowly crank up again. I don't particularly like the graphics on the SWM, and think they are a bit clumsy. But the bike underneath should be as good as the Husky, and likely provide parts for us.
