• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey, I made it! Had some trouble getting on, but Rusty 2 and Coffee hooked me up. Thanks guys.
I've been a loyal Husky man since I saw my first one. I was just a kid riding a Hodaka Super Rat and a 'old' guy on a 360 Husky showed up at our riding area. It was one of the dual range bikes. Probably built in the late 60's or early 70's. I never did know or learn much about those bikes, but I was hooked. So, I've owned a few since then. My latest is an '07 TE450. My wife bought it for me prior to my retirement, so that I could get it all sorted out before moving into my next career as a "Professional Dual-Sport Rider'! For anyone who might be thinking about making the same move, be warned, it doesn't pay much.........Glad to be aboard.........jkm

Dang...I could use a wife like that:lol:

Congrats on the new bike and the retirement! Man, I wish I was a few years closer to retirement. There's just not enough time to do all the stuff I want to do...

Howdy folks. Back in the day, I raced a bit on CZ's and Husky's. But I was seduced by the dark side (jap bikes) for many years. While trying, unsuccessfully, to get a license plate for my XR650r a friend said go look at the new Huskys, they come plated from the factory. Opened the phone book, nearest dealer is someplace called UpTite, Ok, whatever.
Wandered in, what a pig stye. Then I saw the bikes. HOLY COW, these are cool.
Met George. He tells me all about everything, lets me test ride around the parking lot.
OH Baby!! Who do I have to kill to get one.
Now only have to sell a couple of Hondas and I'll be a happy camper.
But George? you might wanna think about a maid or something. wow... :)

Hi Everybody. I have been away from motorcycles for awhile, but this year I jumped back in. I bought an 08 Husqvarna SM 610 to make my short commute more memorable and to use as a weekend 'canyon fun' bike. One thing led to another, I resumed my interest in offroad bikes and motocross, and I am now restoring both a 1978 OR 250 and a 1980 CR 250. My wife thinks I'm crazy when I get all exicted about the latest rusty, old, greasy ('what the heck is that?') part I just got in the mail. Here's is a picture of me from a century ago. Gary

Welcome, desmo900:cheers:

You got lucky running into George for your first modern-day Husky contact, as he is the Omnipotent One of All Things Husky:thumbsup:
We don't care how disheveled his shop is, as long as he continues to help us keep our Huskies pristine:)

BTW, in regards to your username, might there be a Ducati in your past that you're not telling us about?:busted:

Hello All,
I’m relatively new to the Husky world. I’ve had my 07 TE 450 for about a year and a half. I love the bike more every time I ride it. I have been riding since I was 10 but always had 2 smokes, so I might have a lot of newbie questions for a while  I’ll apologize for that now!

Thanks Coffee for a great place to ask them!!

There are no dumb questions. People are not born with intrinsic knowledge about motorcycles.

Looks like WoodsChick is finally up to speed! Thanks for saying hello to everyone!

Hi all, I am from South Africa and have just purchased a TE610. I have been searching the net for a good Husky forum and came across this site, it looks like this is a nice community to be a part of. I am looking forward to hearing your views and opinions.

Introducing myself:cool: uhh... uhhhh... hmmm-
I have a problem? with? not having a husky yet???

I am DRZnXJnWI on tt and EXCnXJnWI on ktm.t..., now HUSKYnXJnWI on cafeHusky. See the trend- yet I don't have my husky yet, tryen to sell and put myself into position to buy a new one. My first interest in Husky's mainly came with the new 310 cause I have a 2002 Ktmexc 250 with HT Racing's 351 kit. Love that bike- looking for something simular- it has a close ratio trany 6-speed and is a short stroke- so its simular to a husqy set up. Now kinda thinking 450, txc or te, I am very active member in the Wisconsin Dual Sport Riders Club, and ride a couple enduros with friends. So a plate is always a necesity- but the DRZ is a pig for racing, hence the ktm, so eventually the 450 TE, TXC may very well replace both.

anyway- I posted an answer/ comment in the main forum and found out that since I have not posted here ever- I am being assessed as a possible spammer, that's cool that work is being done to screen out spammers, but now I regret recomending a brandname (rekluse): well its not porn but I like it.

Welcome, HUSKYnXJnWI ! (whew! I had to scroll down 3 times to make sure I spelled it right:eek:)

No worries about recommending a Rekluse; They make a good product, and put on a hell of a BBQ, too!

Good luck on getting your Husky:thumbsup:

Greetings

My name is Dave and I live in Boise, Idaho. I turn the big 40 soon and have decided I've been out of dirt bikes long enough. I ride my mountain bike plenty but sure wish I had a throttle to twist.

Anyways, I grew up riding and racing in the 80's. Last new bike I had was an '86 250WR. Huskys are what I know. I grew up in Washington State [Yakima] and spent countless hours in the Little Naches/Taneum in my youth. I'm missing it and will get back into riding in 2008.

Still trying to decide between the 2 stroke and the 4 strokes -- tough call. I'll try to get on a 450 here before long to see how they feel. Until I do so, I'm inclined to go 2-stroke and the new 300 is looking pretty good to me.

Cheers. Dave

Welcome, boisedave! I love Idaho...the land of singletrack heaven!
It will be my home someday:)

If I lived in Boise, I'd probably get myself a nimble 2-stroke for all the killer singletrack that is available within a few hours' drive. Then, I'd get myself a nice 4-stroke for the winter desert riding just south of you.
Glad I could help:D

I certainly do! We've ridden together in Idaho, and he flew out to CA last winter to ride with me.

He's a great guy

I've seen Craig's pictures from those trips.....great stuff.
There's one photo in particular of you guys riding through a boulder field that looked really tough. He said it wasn't as bad as it looked in the picture but I'm not buying it. He also said the California trip was a blast.

Yeah, Craig and I went on a totally epic ride one day in Idaho that year. We did over 100 miles (and those were Idaho singletrack miles...they're much longer there than they are in other parts of the country) with a big group of folks, and we all managed to make it through. Did he tell you how much psi he had in his tires that day? And yeah, the CA trip was totally killer! I really want him to come back again and ride with me. We've got another GasGas 300 in the garage for him to ride. Remind him of that, will ya?

Idaho rocks...
