• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Mitchel (Mitch) Sanchez. Been riding and racing in Baja since late 80's. Raced a TC 510 at the 06 Baja 1000 and got hooked on Husky's. Raced 07 SF250 and Baja 500 on Husky, then ran out of money for the 1000 and had to ride on another team (Free Ride), on one of those "other" bikes

Took 2008 off from racing to recover financially and heal a chipped shoulder bone. Just purchased my buddies 06 TC 510, on an offer I could not refuse. She is ready to go, has everything on it. If I ever learn how to post pics, I will surely add them on this site.

Planning on racing 2009 SCORE Baja series. Will be leading off San Felipe 250 on the 06 TC 510, then turning that into prerun bike for rest of season and getting an 09 for rest of year.

Oh, almost forgot; Racing Pro Class 30. Finalizing team riders as of today.

Would like to get a group of Husky enthusiasts together to pit for my team for at least the San Felipe 250. Any of you interested, please P.M. me. Would be great to have an all Husky riders pit crew. Easy race to chase and pit for.

Thanks again and love the site. Mitch.

Welcome Mitch, aka SanDHusky:cheers:

Good luck with your racing effort!

Welcome to CafeHusky, MrBungle:thumbsup:

You're absolutely right about winter sucking. Why, just yesterday I had to use my grip heaters on my morning commute into San Francisco as it was only 42 degrees. Brrr....:D

 Well, if it makes you feel any better, our favorite trails here are covered in snow for now. In fact, it snowed in San Francisco a few weeks ago! It melted by noon, though...

I wanted to ride Death Valley this weekend, with mid to high 60's and sunshine, but instead we'll be refinishing our 90-year-old hardwood floors. Yay.

I have been doing about two hours on the track for the last few days in a row. New Years day will be a 4-6 hour session.
I take off my helmet only to get lost in a steam cloud.

I could not imagine getting a new bike and having to sit and look at it all winter..my heart goes out to you that do!

Hi Coffee,
I just stumbled onto this website today from a link in the Thumper Talk Husqvarna 4T forum where you are well known and appreciated. I assume that this site will be excellent under your care; I see a different moderator listed so I assume that you are webmaster? I also see many of the good guys from T-T posting.

Anyway, I ride a 2007 Husqvarna TE450. It has a Rekluse and a right hand rear brake. I like it more every time I ride it. I'm an old enduro rider in the East Coast Enduro Association, I've been with the Pine Barons Enduro Riders, an ECEA club, for the last 26 years. I'm club secretary and enjoy working on the trails for our annual enduro. My avatar is me with my 1973 Husky MJ 250CR ("Heikki Mikkola Replica") ready for a 1978 ECEA enduro. It was my first serious dirt bike, new in 1973. I'm a retired Mechanical Engineer and enjoy the technical side of the sport almost as much as riding.

I put the site up & run it, 1 moderator at the moment helping out. Trying to arrange things so people can more easily keep track of everyones good information.

 Excellent quote! And welcome to CafeHusky, rasputin!

Even though my Husky is an SM610, I prefer 2-strokes in the dirt. I have 2 of them:)

Hi
I just found this site while researching 610 lighting solutions. I picked up my 2008 TE610 last summer for daily commuting (80 miles round trip) and some weekend blasting. I put Wolfman packs on it,a skid plate, pivot pegs and Cycra Probend guards. I didnt ride back and forth to work much due to my work hours and I live in heavy deer area. The lighting issues with the TE610 really presented problems for me since my morning drive is mostly in the dark on deer heavy roads. I live in an apartment so some of the "fixes" I read about would have been a little difficult. Then I found "IT" .... The new Trail Tech E2eclipse! I immediately ordered one from Motorsportz and I am eagerly waiting for delivery. That got me all fired up again and I've been lurking on the forum quite a bit. I'm impressed as it seems like a great group of people here. I'm sure I'll be learning a lot here.

Thanks
Dave
