• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi all, just recently introduced to the Cafe a couple of weeks ago by David aka fitness2go...been lurking around a bit since I don't post much. Anyway, the name's Shawn, I ride a 2008 TE-510 and love the bike. I have also been starting to make adjustable kickstands for the TE riders who switch back and forth from supermoto wheels to off road. A couple pics of my Husky...

Picked up a TE-510 in the fall to keep my XR-400 and BWM R1100 RT company. Started DS riding just a two year ago. Being now 49 wishing I had started much earlier. Looking to get the TE out on the trails in Northern MI, as there are not too Huskys many around here.

Best Wishes for 2009.

ps: don't listen to the media, American Cars/Trucks are a great value. Greetings from a much maliagned Detroit. The banks got a $700b gift, the big three got a $25b LOAN

I thought I was the only one in Michigan! Well except for Chop Suey. Congrats on the 510

I just found this site a few weeks ago. I bought a 08' TE610 last spring for work commuting (80 mi round trip) and weekend riding. Didnt get a chance to commute much with it due to the lighting issues. I live in very heavy deer country and my morning ride is half in the dark. I've been trying to decide which "fix" to try to correct the lighting. Then I found the Eclipse X2. I ordered one up from Motorsportz and can't wait to put it on and be able to see!! :D

I love Husky!

Hey Guys,
This is my first post on the forum and just wanted to introduce myself. I am in Tennessee and have an 08 TE450 purchased in March of last year. I have ridden portions of the Trans America Trail on it and really super tight muddy, rock and root infested singletrack. I even ride it to our European Dirt Bike Club meetings plus it can even come to our MotoItalia meetings.

TT was my primary source of info as I was learning about the brand and that particular model. It's great to see an entire web site dedicated to Husqvarna only. I especially enjoyed the Husq vs. Husk piece of the history and the firearms background from this site. Strangely enough, I only found out about this site after a post on the orange web site under "Other Exotic Bikes".

Why did I buy Husky instead of the other choice? The same reason that I prefer Ducati and TM to the other brands.... Quality! I am not much of a Forum person and may come and go, but you may PM me anytime for a fast response if I can be of service regarding my past year experience on the amazing 2008 Fuel Injected Beast known as the TE450!

Hey proeasy, we live right off the Tomahawk C loop, so give us a shout when you're heading up our way. Always nice to ride with other Husky riders!

Hola,

I'm gaspipe, and I spend most of my time riding on long trips in faraway places. I had (and sold) an '04 TC450, and Yanni23 bought my '06 WR250R. But I still have my old '83 500 XC for local fun, and to keep the Husky banner flying at casa gaspipe.

A 510 might be in the near future....

Hi folks,

First post on this site. I recognize many of the folks from TT and hope to add my highly overrated $.02 for any help it can be. Nice idea for the site I hope I can help to promote and support it. Current bikes are an 06 WR250 and 2000 WR360. If any one is going to be in western Montana next year give a shout and maybe we can hook up.

Happy New year to all,
Walt

Good lawd-a-mighty! I can't keep up with all the new folks around here!!

I'd like to extend a warm CafeHusky welcome to smranger, proeasy, MajorD, fairfaxbiker, gaspipe and his beautiful XC, and wallybean

Nice to have you all on board

Hi all, Marc here from Omaha and the new owner of a 74 CR250 Mag. Needs a little work before I start racing it so I may be asking for a little help now and then. Haven't ridden MX since 1976.....

Welcome to CafeHusky, warburtonm:cheers: Congrats on the "new" bike and getting back into racing. There are quite a few folks here that are very knowledgeable in regards to the older Husky bikes. Be sure to post up a photo of your bike for us.

Once a lurker, now an owner of a new 2008 TE450 :applause:

I'm a long time rider that grew up in Florida with a love/hate relationship with sand. I just recently moved to more rock and hills in Austin Texas. I enjoy riding all types of dirt bikes and can already see why everyone loves their Husky.

Its good to see so much support for the brand, those Beemer guys sure did inherit a good fan base.

Still a lurker, but looking forward to a possible Husky purchase in the future. Still trying to figure out which the heck one I want. :excuseme:

I'm an ECEA guy from PA who loves dirt bikes. I do enduros, and trail riding on the side.

Thanks for the site, what a great way to access know-how about Husky stuff.

Hello All,

I am new to the CAFE, I ride moto-x mainly. I ride some off-road every once in a while and have had a few Husky's and thinking I will probably have another soon. The TC250 looks good.

Motocross - awesome.

I've played a bit at a track, enough to know I'm terrible at it.

What bike are riding now? How would you compare it to the TC250? 'A' class?

I'm sure there are other members of Cafe Husky that would like to hear a bit more.
