• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Greetings. New to this forum, over from TT. I've had an '06 TE250 (300 actually) for about a year, which is my first off-road machine in about 20 years. In the '80s I raced So. Cal Dez District 37 in the 175 and 250 classes (on Huskies).

In addition to the TE, I have a KLR for long-distance off-road trips (e.g. Nevada Black Rock and Baja) and a r1200GS for...well...pavement only.

Cheers.

Mark.

Welcome to CafeHusky, MarkC:cheers: Glad to have you here!

I bought my SM610 (which sees way more dirt than pavement) for the long-distance off-road trips in Nevada and other far-flung outposts, and I couldn't be happier with it:thumbsup:

Hi there....I live on the Gold Coast in Oz... Have just recently bought my first Husky.. she is a TE610 08' model and I got her as i wanted to expand into longer distance riding.. In the past I,ve always ridden two strokes (mostly KTM's...sorry), still have an oil burner for single track stuff.... but found my new girl after running her in from new... still with standard gearing will only go 135 to 140kph. This doesn't seem right to me and was hoping for some input from people in the know... Cheers curlyman

Glad to have you here at CafeHusky, curlyman:applause:

Don't know about the `08 TE610's, but my `07 SM610 came geared kind of short. It works well in the dirt, but could use longer legs on the pavement, for sure. Post up the question in the 610 forum and you'll probably get more answers than you can use:)
