• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey Coffee,

Great job on the site and I look forward to reading and learning from the knowledge of others on here. I am from Australia and have an '06 TE450 and have just put my son on an '09 TE250. Now that we have two bikes of the same kind makes maintenance that much easier like filters and so on. I must say they also look pretty good sitting next to each other on the trailer. The photos if they load up are of us riding last weekend. Keep up the good work.:applause:

Welcome, TEHusky:thumbsup:

You're right about the maintenance issue, and the fact that the two Huskies look good on the trailer. I'm hoping my husband gets a 610 for his next bike so we'll have a matching pair, too!

Welcome to CafeHusky, oregontrail:cheers:

I used to have a WR250f, too, and I bet it would have been a lot more fun with a 290 kit in it:D

WoodsChick

The 290 really works great, able to drop the rear sprocket to a 49. It's got an FMF sx powerbomb and Ti muffler, Quickshot, PowerNow, Vortex ignition, and it's plated. :eek:We have some real nice single track in Southern Oregon a 250 is a lot easier to ride than a 450. But over in Eastern Oregon and North a 450 plus is good.

Hi all. Long time 430 fanatic here. Looks like a great site. Lots of interest in the older stuff, mods, upgrades, etc. I've got a few 430 projects going and I'll share as I learn how.

Hello, and welcome to CafeHusky, atkmadman:applause:

You might get a better response to your question if you ask in the main forum and/or the vintage forum:thumbsup: Good luck with your new vintage treasure!
