• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Thanks for the entry. As you might tell from my name I like Hodaka's. I'm helping a friend that just picked up a 77 cr390 get it ready for some Vintage MX. I myself am about to take over a 02 cr250 that was left at the shop I started working at about 4 months. It's been sitting at our shop for about a year.

Welcome to CafeHusky, socalhodaka

Good luck with the "new" CR250

New "Potential" Husky Owner

Hi, Doug from Texas here. Lots of time riding street bikes (since 1971) I am 50. I spend a good bit of time riding at the track (Roadrace) and I am currently recovering from a Nov 9, 2008 get off. I augered in on my 2003 Tuono. I have since sold it, and I am looking for a more supermoto sort of bike. The SM610R seems to be that bike. I am looking a pretty good pricing on a new one.

I used to have a KTM 525 SMR, loved the bike, but maintaining it was a full time job. It was one of many at the time. I am going to be needing a new scooter as I sold my Tuono.

I found this forum via TT and thought I would read what Husky guys say about Huskys.

Here are a couple of pics.

I'd say almost all of the Husky owners here will say that they love their Huskys (I know I do!) but as a general rule they will also be honest about the Husky personality, the problems they've experienced and the solutions they've found to those problems.

Good luck in your search, and good luck with the recovery. I've been there, and it ain't no fun.

Hi everyone, my name is Richard [Rick], I do a lot more lurking than I do posting but it's a joy to have a forum like this. It's the next best thing to riding [almost!] Ha! Anyway, I'm 57 & I will quit riding when I quit healing. So far I'm healing quite well thank you!!!

Ha! Love it:lol: I'd have to say that's my philosophy, too, I just never thought to put it into words like that! I think you'll fit in just fine here at CafeHusky:cheers:

Still healing,

Yay! Todd's in the house:applause:

Utah is on the books for late April/early May according to Deeney. I think we'll be doing 5MOH and possibly White Rim this year. I'd love to do the Hole-In-The-Rock trail again...that was some seriously fun stuff! Will you be there this year? White Rim is going to be the perfect trail for our 610's.

WoodsChick

Please don't make me follow you with the 610 on 5MOH!

I'll make an extra effort to make this trip this year.

BTW, heading to Utah in 11 days. 5MOH on the KTM300 though. Did I violate rules by saying KTM here:lol:

Hmm I thought I'd see a couple of familiar names around here.......

mountain eagle here, and no I don't have a husky...... yet. I'm in the lust stage and moving towards education and acquistion.

Hi, I'm Jack. Saw your site mentioned at ADVrider and figured I'd check it out. Nice place you have here. Don't have a Husky, do have a KTM 450 EXC and a few other bikes, but am thinking about changing to Husky. I think it and CZ are about the only dirt bikes I haven't owned, LOL. I'm showing my age here! Always good to find a friendly dirt bike hangout!

The knowledge pool here is rather deep, what with all the long-time Husky riders here, so it's a great place for the first-time husky owner/rider

You follow me in Five Miles of Hell?? Now that's funny right there:lol: There's no way I'd take a 610 through Hell, although I did see Rowdy (the freakishly large Austrian) ride a CR500 and an XR650L through there:eek:

No rules violation noted re: KTM :) A lot of CafeHusky members have more than one flavor of bike. Heck, take a look at my sig line:busted:

Hope to see you in April/May, and take lots of photos in Hell! Don't know if any CafeHusky members have ever been through there:devil:

Welcome to CafeHusky, Mountain Eagle

Just so you know, the lust stage doesn't end with purchase:awww:
If anything, it just makes it worse:p

Good luck in your search for the perfect Husky:thumbsup:

Hi, Brainbender! Welcome to CafeHusky:applause:

I have a KTM 450 EXC, too, but one can never have too many motorcycles:D

first post

First post on the site. Just found out about it yesterday.

Recently got a 08 TE450. It's a really nice bike but after putting a few miles on it -- it may be the wrong model for me. Time will tell.
Anyway, this looks like a great site for Husky owners !

:applause:

Hi there from Richmond

So, I have a '07 TE 510 that I love. I like to ride fire trails in the mountains of VA, WVA and MD. I found out that I have one ruptured and two buldging disks along with some muscular pain, and have not been riding since the fall. And I lost my job three weeks ago. Been a fun winter. I like to get the bike out and ride around the neighborhood when I can. That's about it. I have posted lost at ThumperTalk and some at ADV.
Best,
Chris

How did you hear abut us?

I'd also like to hear your thoughts on your TE450.

Sorry to hear about the bulging discs. I've had back issues before and it is no fun. Good luck with it and I hope you're able to get some riding in soon:thumbsup:
