• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello All-

I recently purchased a 2005 TE450. Im in the process of going thru the bike and getting set up for my liking. I have installed a JD Jetting kit for 6,000 + ft and have begun experimentation with a RaceTech Gold Vale (1) kit. The online matrix for the valve stack given my weight and riding style is close, but no cigar. I have made adjustments to the mid valve shim stakc and am no in the process of dialing in my main stack.

Welcome to CafeHusky, kleemann

Congrats on the new-to-you TE and good luck dialing it in. While some of RaceTech's specs might seem a tad dubious, I've always had good luck with their stuff.

Great to find a forum dedicated to Huskys! Been on the pumpkins for many years now, and as much as I love them, and always will, they just don't have the speical something Husqvarna does. Lookin forward to getting an education on what's what with my new TE 310, and can't wait to get in my first ride!

my probationary first post

BikeSDP checking in. Been lurking here a while. You may have seen me on some other sites with Husky-centric forums with the same handle. I've got an '08 TE-610 that started its life as a demo unit in Loveland, Colorado. I picked that up last summer during the dark days of limbo after the BMW switch when I couldn't get a new one. No regrets though as it has the same quirks as the others that weren't violated by strangers and lookie lou's.

Since I was bored in the winter and I was in denial about a recession I spent the time and money to add supermoto wheels. No regrets there either, but it does take me an hour to make the switch. When the gates are closed I can still ride, so it makes the bike all the more useful.

I won't ask the typical newbie questions about oil, tire choice, tire pressure, mileage and fuel capacity, battery, etc. I've done a fair amount of modifications, so hopefully I can contribute.

Cheers,
Steve

CafeHusky now has Drew Smith as a member.

Ok I just logged on and couldn't help but notice my old friend and NEW 2009 Husqvarna WR125 owner Drew Smith.

For those that don't know Drew, he's the guy that was The team Suzuki racer that helped develop the PE enduro line of motorcycles as well as runner up to Dick Burleson all those years that he won the National Enduro Championship.

I still think to this day that Drew would have beat Dick... had Drew been on a Husqvarna just like King Burleson.

Anyway a big welcome to our newest member Drew Smith.

Oh ya... he's the guy behind Work Enduro Rider WER steering stabilizers http://www.werproducts.net/
