Allow myself to introduce, myself.
Hey all! I just picked up my new '08 TE450

--my first Husqvarna, not counting lawnmowers. It was a while coming, shopped around, got great advice, particularly from some members here who chimed in on advrider and pointed me to this board, bought it from an out of state dealer, shipped to my local suspension guru, had him work his magic to set it up for someone my size (5'9", 135#, ie not exactly the size the bike is built for...), and voila, picked her up today! We've been having very wet weather, so the asphalt is less than thrilling, but the dirt is stellar.
Day 1:
Venture to suspension shop, load into a tail bag all kinds of goodies the suspension guys pulled off the bike for me. Got her home to puzzle 1: how do I get this kickstand down...can't hop off her with this big a tail bag, and man are auto-retracts a PITA. A few minutes of feeling dumb and yippee, success!
Off to work, day dreaming about the Husky...Got home in time to take her for a local spin--up one of my favorite wide open dirt roads:
And up a fun, winding, rough-enough-to-be-interesting dirt road to the Audie Murphy monument:
And, mounting up I had my first auto-retract induced dump

. Fortunately I broke her fall with my body and had gotten the suspension guys to put on decent brush guards, so no harm no foul...
Coming back down the mountain the low fuel light comes on--having not yet had a chance to peruse the manual, wasn't sure I'd make it back to town so came home the long way to seek out the nearest gas station

:
Yes, I took a picture getting gas. It's like a child's first steps; one must document these things

!
Left the gas station, and was virtually attacked by a deer. Fortunately I was too busy playing with the fancy schmancy digital tach to see the deer until it jumped right in front of me, probably slowing my reaction time and causing me
not to slam on the brakes or otherwise do something hasty and ill-advised. Did, however, bring out some pucker factor and remind me to focus on the road

.
Deer, rain, fog, dirt, mayflies, vistas, all up a terrific first 60 miles on the fair lass, and I'm so glad to now, finally, be part of the Husky world!
